After viewing past discussions, I wonder what the delay or holdup is? Does it have to with future connect + google cast features? I would hate for those add ons to sound as poor as what others are currently describing.

I wonder what the delay or holdup is?
it is because they only have 1 person working on this feature set /s

but in seriousness, I do hope they figure it out soon ?‍? compared to base BMW or Model Y the Rivian Premium audio is a huge let down

I don’t think an update would fix the speaker setup. The mindset of covering up bad speakers, and low quality audio signals, has been to mask with the perceived experience of surround or atmos sound. Don’t be fooled. Quality made speakers with 24 bit audio is the only way truly listen to music as it was intended. I ended up pulling out my whole system and placing new speakers and amps. Sounds incredible. Looks completely stock still. Plenty of space to hide amps and subs in the R1S.

That was my immediate thought when I first fired up a track on Tidal. This can't fixed via software, the speakers are awful and the signal is crushed to bits. Just hope they can at least improve it somewhat like they did with gen1

We installed Focal speakers and sub, with Musway amps and processors. Put the amps in the bottom of the frunk, and the subwoofer in the spare wheel well in the back. The Musway processor gets 24bit through bluetooth, but iPhone can only transmit 16bit via bluetooth. Due to that Apple shortfall we are running an optical cable to USB C to get full 24 bit audio from my iPhone that is setup for Lossless audio via Apple Music. 16-bit quality already sounds better, but with 24-bit, you can hear every detail — just as the artist did when they recorded it.
