I am curious if others are having similar software issues on your gen 2 vehicle. Here are my main ones along with the SC response:

1. Thermostat on auto and pet comfort don't work.
Response: For some reason the climate system only checks the outside temperature. So as long as the outside temp is colder than the thermostat setting it will keep getting warmer.

Proposed solution is to not use auto and select a fan speed that keeps cabin comfortable.
At least my 1971 Ford Mustang had a sliding lever I could use to adjust the fan4. temp. ?.

2. Every time the truck wakes up from being asleep the radio volume is at 16 when it is set at 4.
Response: "Yea, that is a weird one."

Solution is to reset the vehicle every other day which fixes it for two days.

3. Dome lights don't come on when I open the door from a sleep.
Response: "Yea, another weird one. We aren't sure how to change that"

Solution: Live with it until an OTA comes out to fix it.

4. Front sensors claim to be dirty/blocked when they aren't. Cr

Response: Latest OTA should fix it and they were correct.

I continue to love my truck, but they want $100,000 for these vehicles. This stuff just shouldn't be happening.

I can confirm that my gen 2 has not had any of those software bugs. I've had a few glitches and quirks for sure. But none of those things, and none that consistently. You should definitely make a service center appointment

Gen2 R1T here, have had the last issue (front sensors failed to work after waking up from sleep - this happened one time and stayed off until I did a hard reset, and occasional errors on adaptive lights needed to be checked...both these problems went away with the Latest OTA which had them listed as "very rarely seen issues"...).

On 1st issue - R1T temp setting needs to be higher than my Tesla settings to feel same level of warmth/comfort. Like 70 in Tesla MY or M3 is like 73 or 74 setting required in R1T. I heard in some podcasts others (another Gen2 owner) has the same situation. In your situation though, it could be possible that interior temp sensor is faulty? Car needs to settle down at some point, not keep on heating/increasing inside.

#2 issue - volume is tied to bluetooth somehow I think. is someone in your family pairing new phone or resetting the bluetooth pairing frequently?

The service tech told me his gen 2 has the same thermostat issue. I'm the only one who consistently drives the vehicle, but now that you mention it the problem started when I upgraded my iphone. Not sure how to check that. My old still shows up in the truck as a key. Will delete that one and see if it helps.

Not being able to use Pet Comfort because of the thermostat issue is really annoying too. I stopped at the grocery store and went inside for 15 minutes (was 20 degrees outside). While in there I got an emergency notification on the app that the cabin temp was 85 degrees and to go check on my pet. I'm giving them one more OTA to fix this. Then they are fixing it one way or another. I use the Normal SC and they are great to work with, but sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Interesting - fact that your car told you interior is at 85deg, the inside thermostat is working! Then it sure is a s/w glitch that can and should be fixed by (1) hard reset (hopefully) and if not, then as a SW OTA in a coming update. You don’t have to wait for that long though!!

I have had my share of Bluetooth and audio over many cars - so I always go by deleting all old phones from the car, deleting the car(forget device) from the phone Bluetooth menu and then keeping phone volume at 60 or 70% and THEN pairing with the car.

I noticed a few things as well:

1. Temp is set on Lowest, but off. Tap defrost (cold). Defrost comes on. Turn off defrost. Climate stays on, but is definitely not cold anymore, and starts spewing warm air. You have to adjust the temperature (which still says "Lowest") before it gets cold again.

2. Keys assigned to other driver profiles in the app don't show up as assigned in the car.

No issues with my Gen2 with the updates. What has always been a rub is after backing up, the infotainment screen doesn't always return to the music screen. Sometimes it just stays in camera mode.

Believe me I've reset the vehicle repeatedly. The only thing it fixes is the radio volume. The fix lasts about two days. I told them the same thing about the app knowing what the cabin temp is. Whatever the mechanism is being used as a switch is failing.

LOL....I guess we have to disagree on expectations of a $100,000 vehicle. I've owned 33 vehicles in my life including Range River Sport (all time fav gas vehicle), Cayenne, MB, BMW and have never experienced the cabin thermostat not working. If I did I guarantee you it would not be given back to me still broke with the stupid explanation I got.

I have the DMP and the only issue is the radio volume. Everything else works as advertised.

Concerning issues, all cars have them. Just depends on the day they were made and the workers approach that day. I’ve had issues with Lexus. MB, Corvettes, Fords etc, and then no issues with the same brands and models just a different vehicle.

Sorry @Golfer04 that you are having those issues. Our G2 Dual/Max has not had those hiccups at all... sometimes my G2 Tri/Max will say sensor problem or something, but will clear itself - I don't **think** I'm having these issues.

I too loved the RR Sport (had 2!) and while neither had hvac issues, I did have an entire engine failure on one of them...
