Gen1 Camera Caught License Plate Thief

Yesterday my G1 R1S Camera caught a license plate thief exiting their SUV with Florida License Plate RXC-I20 before they began to remove my rear license plate in Central New Jersey Monmouth county.

Maybe they thought it was only a back-up camera however, my Gen 1 R1S camera captured both accomplices in the act of stealing my license plate.

This is why we can't have nice things!

What a dirt bag... I'd report it stolen asap, so it can be uploaded to LPR system. Typically this is done to commit other crimes... ie.. cold plate a G-ride, commit thefts at stores, residential burglaries and even murders.

After returning to vehicle 5 minutes after they left I saw the motion notification and checked the footage...immediately drove to police station and did as you recommended.

I wish we got motion alerts on mobile device. Hopefully update will come soon.

I see they didn't put the screws back into the lower mounting holes, but did they at least leave the 4 mounting screws on the ground? Would be nice to not have to find a source for those items, which are usually made of Unobtanium.

Can't tell in the pics, but it's there an expiration date on the plate? Or is it PM? PM is permanent and from a rental car, it's how I tell real Floridians from rental cars out in the opposite end of the country. They may have been using a stolen plate to steal other plates.

We couldn't see the expiration info only the plate number which the police used to get a local address. It appears that when you are a predicate criminal your police history is not limited.
