Wow! I'm so glad to see this. As an Android user, I've never had a problem with Qi wireless chargers. But I've never been able to get any of my phones to detect a MagSafe charger. Even my Pixel 8 Pro does nothing when I tried sitting it on a MagSafe puck someone has on their desk at the office. Of course, it does charge fine on the current Rivian pad, with the exception of sliding around. Also want one with a little bigger "granola bowl", for lack of a better word. ? Ty for posting the link to the Anker product.
Probably to do with positioning. With my iPhone 12 Pro, on some Qi chargers I have to place it just right. The phone's own case is opaque, so are the chargers. So you're just guessing and eyeballing where the coils are at both sides. Same goes for the stock Rivian pad if stationary. While driving, it slides all over the place and the screen turns on and off constantly as it break and re-establish alignment. Until I installed s00nish's, it got so distracting at night I basically just put the phone face-down. I thought about getting a grippy silicone phone case, but I just can't stand how dirty those feel (personal pet peeve).

someone needs to 3D print a TPU mat with ridges, so the phone stay put. I may get around to this when I have a chance. Take out the old mat 3D scan it then print in TPU with raised spine in middle and sides.
The Gen1 version mostly works alright with Google phones, they just slide around a bit. It literally only needs a 3D printed divider that sticks in the middle to keep your phone from sliding around. Simple solution, and I do not really see the need for an aftermarket pad that needs to be plugged in.

Exactly. My thought was to make the existing on with a ridge in TPU that uses all the original hardware
