Get front light bar to show soc

I've got a gen 2, with this feature turned on, but it only seems to stay on for about a minute anyway -- not as cool, as I thought it would be. You plug in, you see the progress and if you check on the vehicle after 5 minutes, it's still charging but the lights are all off except for the tiny green on the charge port eject button.

At least on my Gen 1, the green light bar is setting dependent. On all the time or off when locked. It may also be possible to set it to never light up, I can’t remember because I like having it on when I first plug in to be sure it’s charging properly, before it shuts off when locked.

"On all the time" isn't an option for g2. It'll turn off when the doors lock, or after like 10 minutes. Whichever comes first

Gen 1 showed the state of charge on the front light bar very early on but they disabled it for whatever reason.

Is this true? Why disable it?

No consumer deliveries did. Maybe employee vehicles, but the production intent prototype did.

It says the SOC will only show while it’s unlocked… but still turns off even unlocked anyway.

I have gen 1 and the halloween mode “Trunk or Treat” displays a progressive green light bar that looks like it definitely could be used for soc.

Yep. In the prerelease photos/video, it discussed using the bar as a charge % indicator.

When the final vehicles came out, and only "pulsed" the whole bar green, I figured they removed segment-addressability in the final release.

But this halloween mode shows it's actually still there!
