From the email Rivian sent today:
My Rivianology assessment points to Google Cast and YouTube being software locked in the current software (2024.31). Their release will coincide with the expiration of the Connect+ trial. Rivian’s current contract with AT&T may specifically restrict video streaming or Rivian simply doesn’t want to absorb the data cost without paying Connect+ subscribers.
It’s interesting that Google Cast and YouTube are stated as “coming soon”, but GGLC is in a few months. RivianTrackr tells us that GGLC is coming in 2024.35.Connect+ will continue to improve with future software updates. Coming soon, Google Cast and YouTube will join your other content apps, and in the next few months, Gear Guard Live Cam will give you the power to monitor your vehicle from pretty much anywhere using the Rivian app.
