Would this work to mirror an app into the Infotainment?, For instance say you are offroading/camping/overlanding and navigating into an an area way out of range of google maps and you have it mapped in OnX on your phone.

Would I be able to "cast" my OnX app? it's not a video so maybe not but I've been wrong in the past. To me and my usage that would be more useful than any video casting.

In theory, yes. In reality, it will probably only allow casting while the vehicle is in park.

Ok, I guess it's a wait n see thing. If it's only on park it will not be useful as this is a Navigation app.
I had hoped it would allow this as well, but Cast will only work while the vehicle is in park. Wassym said during the last Q&A that they were were working with Google to allow the cast functionality to work on the rear screen while the vehicle is in motion, something which would come next year. He did emphasize that because of the close work and integration that it would allow them further flexibility.
