Has anyone else noticed that the normal Apple shortcuts no longer work? I get a time out message that the phone cannot control the vehicle.

I have the R1S (gen1). I've previously created and used (via cellular connections; not bluetooth key) Apple shortcuts (on my phone & cellular enabled Watch) for functions such as locking, unlocking, starting climate, opening the frunk, etc. About 2 to 3 weeks ago they no longer worked. This week I deleted the Apple shortcuts and recreated them (there seemed to be some changes in the new Rivian app), but that didn't help.

I can still do everything via the Rivian phone app (which is slow and clunky IMO), but I really miss being able to do some of those basic functions from my Apple Watch shortcut (via cellular).

Have you tried recreating a shortcut? I just created lock and unlock shortcuts now and both work fine for me.

I recreated them this week and at first it worked, but after that first initial test it resorted back to the same symptom. What appears to be the failure point is that the Apple shortcut function has a set window of duration that it will wait for the app in question to return a task completion confirmation. If that confirmation does not "come back" in time, then the Apple shortcut gives the failure message (on the Watch it locks up the shortcut and a device restart is required). My theory is that the LONG lag time between a command in the underlying Rivian app and the vehicle is longer than the Apple shortcut is programmed to wait for, and then there is a glitch in the current Apple shortcut software where it doesn't recover well after not receiving a task confirmation back.

But I was primarily curious if it's just me or if others are seeing this happen too.

I hadn’t tried my shortcuts in a while but yeah, they’re not working. I suspect it’s more an issue with the Rivian app, as my other shortcuts are working fine.
