Just a quick update... my excitement has faded to disappointment once again as my June/July estimate has now been revised to "processing estimate" with the new updated delivery estimate coming in August. I'm sure nobody else in Hawaii has managed to take a delivery of one yet since there hasn't been any announcement of a service center here. I'm bummed but it's been almost 5 years since my reservation so I've largely become numb to all this.
Surferdude, are you on Oahu? I feel like reservations there will be the first to take official deliveries. Mine still says June/July 2024 (reserved in 2019) but I’m on Kauai and just patiently waiting for Rivian to work out the design flaws and QC issues. Who knows, the longer we wait, we may find some revised federal tax incentives.

I would be more than happy to wait a little longer to get the full $7500!

I saw a R1T in Kauai last week in a sea of Tacomas! Also saw a few Lightenings. Browsing the EA app, I did not see any fast charger options. Home charging is the only real solution it seems. Hopefully you have solar.

Yeah, I got solar panels and Tesla batteries, thats how I plan on charging my R1S. We don't have any public charging stations as far as I know over here on Lana'i.

If a hybrid or fully electric Tacoma becomes available before my R1T I’m all over it. Serviceability at an on island dealership would be my tipping point.

Yes I'm on Oahu. I've seen a few R1Ts puttin around town but yet to see an R1S. Some have mainland plates, a couple have local plates. Either these people have some unknown secret access to service or they have been lucky and have not had any issues with their vehicles that require service.

I have the same setup. Without solar and batteries (or solar and grandfathered NEM) you will be paying about the same cost to drive a similar gas vehicle as you would the Rivian. Maybe even more.

Fairly certain Rivian has flown a tech out and taken care of the Hawaii customers. Haven’t heard of many bricked from major issues. But all the known recalls and typical alignment/rattling/AC stuff has been serviced by a mobile Riv tech or contracted through a local shop(alignment) Guy flys over and hits all 10-20 vehicles over a few weeks.

If this is true and fully sanctioned by Rivian that would be great. But Rivian support told me otherwise.

Has anyone received any confirmation from Rivian that they will indeed support any repairs/service (minor and major) locally for Hawaii residents?

I’m the El Cap R1T. Also saw a Limestone last week outside of Hanalei heading east, so think there are 2 of us now.

Met a fella, Mark, at Wilcox Hx a few days ago with a Forrest Green R1T. I’ve seen him a few times since in the Lihu’e and Southside areas. I invited him to the forum and Kamaaina Rivian Ohana Club.

I am currently on the Big Island until Friday. Saw a green R1T driving around Kona and had to do a double take. The nearest service center is thousands of miles away.
