Wondering if anyone can clarify the automatic headlight settings for me. I've noticed as fall approaches, the automatic headlight threshold seems to be getting more sensitive. Today at about 4 PM the headlight symbol turned on and stayed on and I had a few folks flash me that my lights were on. It was bright enough to just use the DRLs but the headlights turned on anyway. The curious part of all this was the dash and center displays were as bright as usual and not dimmed.
Wondering if there is any way to adjust the threshold when the headlights automatically turn on. In our Lexus, there is a setting to do this from early to late.
Also, noticed that when stopped I can manually turn off all the lights then when moving faster than about 15 MPH the parking light symbol illuminates and can't be turned off until stopped again. This seems to be a DRL function. This turns on the lights around the headlights but also illuminates the horizontal front light bar and rear red light bar. Is this the correct function for this? Are the parking lights considered DRLs? I never really paid attention to this but with our other cars during the day the DRLs are the only ones illuminated and everything else is off. Just wondering if this is a Rivian thing or is there something up.
Thanks!
