I’ll play. Too bad this functionality didn’t begin until after the highest passes in Colorado became less than safe to drive on, or closed. As others have said, can get to over 14k ft around Memorial Day next year. I’ll be able to get down to 1,000 ft when I go to Phoenix, so around 13k max differential. (vs. 9,175 delta at the moment)

My R1S is at the service center at the moment so I cannot show the screen image but my low is 35' and the high is well over 8,900' so delta is roughly 8,900'

I live by the coast and we drove to Lake Tahoe and back last month. The highest point was past Mammoth on the US395.

I'm going to lay claim to the lowest. This from a recent road trip to Death Valley. This is fairly accurate since they have elevations posted all over the place.

It was pre-gauge view, but I've been down to the low 4000 ft realm and as high as 13,800 ft at the top of Mt Antero (Buena Vista). Could probably go a bit higher driving up the paved road on Pikes Peak or Mt Blue Sky (formerly Evans), but what fun would that be. I'm talking about a trip to Chicago next month, so then probably around 600 ft to nearly 14k ft when I do.

Lots of tight switchbacks near the top of Antero and it gets kinda rocky up there. The majority of the trail isn't anything to write home about though. The area I parked looks so tame because there's a mining operation up there, so they cleared a large flat area. 13.8k is as far as you can drive, but you can hike the rest to the top at 14.275k...the route is a little difficult to find because of all the scree but worth it.

Well if you're talking about elevation delta... and if this is a competition... you gotta give yourself a score!

I'm afraid I'm way behind in this competition with my R1S...my score would only be 21%.

If we were doing this a decade ago, I would be faring better (funny how I was better at almost everything a decade ago). We had a 2012 Model S that we took to Death Valley Badwater Basin in Jan 2013 (during a record cold spell), and to Pike's Peak in Sept 2014. So that's -282 to 14,115, for a total delta of 14,397 and a score of 99.8%.

When we descended Pike's Peak, they had a place where you were supposed to stop so they could check your brake temperature. The guy was astounded at how low ours were, and wondered how we were doing it. I guess regen wasn't well-known a decade ago.

The 2013 trip from Seattle to SoCal was to attend a board meeting for Plug In America; my wife wanted to come along and she loves the desert. (I think this trip was my 4th trip to SoCal in an EV; the first was in April 2010). We've been to Death Valley three times in EVs.

On the 2014 trip we were visiting friends, relatives and national parks. We started in the Seattle area, drove to Phoenix, then Maine, then back home. Total trip was over 11,000 miles. We hit Pike's Peak on our way from Phoenix to Maine.

Altitude data depends on whether they are augmenting the readings with known map/terrain data. Easy to do for mapping systems in less remote areas where better tools were used to measure. But we have MapBox so I am sure that isn't the case ?

My kids make a game of this everywhere we go, trying to see if we can get a new high or low. Glad we aren't the only ones. Ours doesn't hold a candle to some posted here. Need to get out to adventure more. I feel a westward road trip coming on.

But highest is currently 975, lowest is -520 and I haven't actually been below sea level. The -520 is a little off I think...

I’m at 12 and ~11,000.

I’ve taken it up around 14,000 at the top of Mt Evans (the day before they changed the name to Mt Blue Sky), but that was before the update with the altimeter was released.
