I was on the I-10 heading to Tucson this morning. I knew the truck was safe, but it performed better than expected. I was doing 75 mph and a deer jumped right in front. No time to react. I hit it and went over it. I

pulled over and I was expecting to see a lot of damage. To my surprise, the only thing that got damage was the front bumper. I kept driving the truck until I got to a safe spot for a detailed inspection and noticed damage on one of the hoses. It was dripping a bluish solution. I called Rivian and was recommended not to continue with the trip as the damage is related to the thermal management system. So, the big question is how long to get it fixed. Hoping getting parts is not a big issue. What is your experience?

Good luck with Kaizen collision. They're the only "certified" shop in Phoenix and they absolutely blow.

If they end up painting anything I would expect dirt in the paint, runs, and all sorts of poor quality control.

Hopefully you can get your truck back soon.

I hit a deer last february, same amount of damage.

Took it to a very well reviewed collision shop specializing in Evs and certified by rivian.

8 weeks for repairs and $14,000 to insurance.

I get mine back this week from someone clipping the front bumper while I was parked. This time is only 4 weeks in the shop. The time before someone scraped the side, two doors and a rear fender replacement and it was 3 months. I agree with SolartoEV that you should expect 8 weeks and $10-15K depending on the damage underneath.

Thanks for feedback. I can live with 8 weeks. I will avoid PHX. There is an approved collision center in Tucson (Dan’s). I will take it there.

I clipped a deer on 11/15, took it for repair on 11/25 and it is still there. I realize there were 3 major holidays in between, so many missed work days. Current estimate is a little over $6,000. I expect it to go up some since there were more items found when the dug in to the damage. Hopefully I will have it back by the end of the week.

My deer hit to the front took 3 months and cost $37,000 total for repairs. Parts are a challenge to get from Rivian. Labor at certified Rivian repair shops cost more, so make sure the shop and insurance company have an agreed upon rate before starting any work.

A deer tried to get me a few months back (also in Tucson...)

Deer was fine and truck is essentially fine - it ended up sliding over my hood and off the other side. The rear hoof clipped my fender but you can only tell when you look at a certain angle do I decided not to worry about it.

Made a video with three different aspects for y'all

I was hoping to get footage, but the my Rivian did not record the incident. It as so surprised that it did not save it.
