Driving around some dirt roads I got a layer of dirt in the bed even with the tonneau closed. I didn’t expect it to be sealed but it made me wonder if I threw all my camping gear, tent, sleeping bags etc. it’d be coated in dirt. How’s everyone keeping their stuff clean?

This probably isn't what you're looking for but... It's a truck.

I have a soft tonneau cover that keeps stuff back there relatively clean and dry but I consider the bed to be a dirty area. That's where I put dirty stuff. I don't have any expectation that stuff in the bed will stay clean.

As mentioned, it’s a truck bed. Put things you want to be clean and dry inside a sealed bag or container of some kind. Plenty of cheap $10 plastic totes at the hardware store that will let you organize your sleeping bags, clothes or kitchen stuff easily and keep them clean enough.

Yep not expecting it to be spotless was just wondering how people dealt with it eg throw a tarp on the stuff, put it bins as mentioned.

Currently F150 Powerboost, Looking at Rivian R1Ts
honestly that's a little disappointing. My current F150 with a revolver tonneau keeps things dry and mostly dust free

I have a roll up soft cover that is almost water tight, I never get anything in the bed. Even during our brutal pollen season.

There was lots of surprise on this in the early days of trucks rolling out, but yup - there are ingress points for lots of dust on those dusty roads. I use bins - keeps everything clean and dry, and they slide in and out so easily (useful with the manual tonneau when the bin is pushed all the way back) and stack nicely at home when not in use.

Dust in the truck bed while off-roading has been a perennial problem. A lot of smart people have been tackling it and never solved the issue. The biggest problem is the rolling/sliding gooseneck cover plate; look between it and the tailgate next time you close it, you'll see straight to the bumper. Oh and the tailgate doesn't have gaskets.

Retired from construction.
Action packers from Fred Meyer work great and fit perfectly.
