Yeah, I don't know what @narmstrong79 is thinking. Rivian can't afford to not build everything they can, and that includes max pack. The market was nearing saturation for a 6 figure SUV so every sale counts. And Rivian can't just say to Samsung, "hold onto this extra batteries until we need them." That's not how these supplier contracts work.

We hope you are doing well! I can confirm that you will have the option to upgrade to the performance dual motor later this year. I wish I had a date to share, but my team's insight is fairly limited. The upgrade will be available via a software update, and we plan to share more information as we get closer to launch. If there is anything else we can do to assist, please let us know!

Saw all the Max Packs that were loaded in the Shop and pulled the trigger on one using my discount. Limestone/Ocean Coast/22" Range/Premium Audio. In my account it shows the purchasing process should open up in 1-2 weeks.

I think they are more focused on moving 2023-24 inventory thru pre-order voucher, attractive lease deals, etc... let orders for Gen 2 come in so they can do proper SIOP for factory planning.

That's why I think they started started with standard pack for the shop, which also uses Samsung batteries. they buy their packs fully assembled, so who knows what if any max packs they have in normal. If you see more than a few large or max in the shop I'd be surprised.

I didn't say they wouldn't deliver a customer configured large/max. I just don't think they will be in shop until they push some of this remaining inventory.

Yup, just looked. Max packs are available in my area now. Interesting. Guess I should have waited a few weeks but happy I have mine.

Edit: Waiting wasn't really an option, zero regrets getting my configuration.

July 2021 pre price hike reservation. I almost leased a few months back, but after no communication for about 4 weeks after my config was confirmed I lost interest. Then Rivian contacted me about a vehicle ready, only to tell me weeks later it was actually missing several things listed on the selected config. At this point I’d rather let my voucher expire and eventually lease, or even purchase, a 2025 Gen2 Trimotor R1T. No way I’d settle on the Gen1. Hell yes, I’m glad I waited.

Snagged a '25 Forest Green dual max R1S this afternoon. I was afraid my color would never show up before my voucher expired. It's not the "avocado" color combo (Forest Green/Forest Edge, which I know is gone now) I've been wanting the past 2 years but I'll take it! Been a roller coaster the past few days but things are looking up!

Nah that doesn't exist anymore. But it's what I'd been wanting for so long before the refresh. In May customer service told me they're not making that combo anymore so I knew the writing was on the wall.
