How Much Does Employee Discount Affect Lease Pricing?

Demo’d an R1T today and loved it. Rep mentioned an employee discount on the large pack. Tonight, I found a max pack that was less expensive. Trying to figure out if the discount will bring the lease price on a large pack down below the on the max pack.

The current F&F discount is $6,000 and applies only to the large. I also started off with a max pack on a 2023 but with communication delays, missed the window on discounts there. They couldn't extend to the max pack (I tried).

For what it's worth the configuration I am going with insures cheaper than the one I started with (2023 performance max, 22 sport wheels) - by enough that I didn't think twice about dropping performance or max. It was literally a $4/mo. difference between the two, with the PDM max being $4 cheaper.

I am in MI so 6% tax monthly on a lease.

Down payment wasn't necessary beyond the original $500, but I was aiming to match payment on the ICE lease ending this fall. Just a nonsense mental block on my part.

Without the F&F $6k, due at signing would've been almost 3x to get the same monthly payment between the actual down and the increased taxes.

I don't plan on buying out my lease so my financing targets might be different from yours, but if you aren't in dire need of a max pack, I'd drop to the large. My original configuration was just to maximize savings.

We are an EV home and have multiple chargers, daily driving isn't long distance so the estimated range isn't a huge concern for me and what will amount to a few hundred dollars in savings each year on insurance is a nice bonus.

Here, I plugged in some numbers i found online for 2023 R1T dual max, assuming on line 19 "Manufacture Incentive includes $3700 2023 lease promotion on both. and +$6000 friends family on the right column. No idea if all the other numbers are accurate but the difference is about $180/month, which is about the $30/$1000 rule.

A proof of that rule of thumb is simple. $6000 FF discount should be applicable as sales price discount so taxes shouldnt apply so you get some tax savings there too and it wont affect residual value or money factor. so $6000/36mo = 166 not counting tax savings. ~$180 is close.

Disclaimer: this is using a self made lease calculator tool thats i've been using for the last decade on leasing. It has always gotten me within <$1 deviation from dealer numbers. In fact I was so confident one time that my number was right that I argued with the dealers "computer generated numbers" and was found that their system was throwing in hidden fees that they "didnt know about".

*edit* to reiterate, i would ignore the actual monthly payment number and focus on the difference. the monthly payment number as shown is assuming a ton of potentially old outdated dates cobbled together. I dont know current residual values, manufacture incentives, etc.
