How much should I worry about tread stones?

Hi all - I keep getting small stones stuck in the treads of the 21” tires. I usually pick them out when I see them, just wondering if this is a cosmetic issue or if leaving them can damage the tire.

Just be careful as they tend to just "launch forward by themselves" in parking lots, and they flip over much easier than you'd think.

As long as they are garden variety picked up around town, you are fine. If you pick them up from mountain roads, it might be worth removing them. Some tend to be fresh ground and very sharp.

Is anyone working on a 3D printed “Tire Tread Stone Guard” here?

If we plug up all the treads with hard ABS plastic, that should solve the problem.

As long as you don't also have red dots on your tires, you should be good to go.
