After a few attempts by rivian Service to fix a rattle, I decided to open the door myself to fix them... Figured this might help others for your gen 1.

Step 1: watch these 2 YouTube clips. Most other ones on YouTube didn't go into enough detail for me

Step 2: video instructions were perfect. I had difficulty at the last step where you apply vertical pressure to remove the inner door. I had to really push up hard. Quick tip, apply protective tape on the plastic trim. (bottom left &. Right of the window) . . Basically the inner plastic door piece may rub and scratch the window frame when you finally disconnect the inner door.

Step 3: after disconnecting the electrical cable and door cable, start to tighten the 100 screws in here (t20, t27 screws and some other bolts) . Don't over tighten as some are screwed into plastic pieces. Also, I put foam tape under every cable or metal on metal pieces that potentially rattled. I kept banging and identify potential rattle points.

There is still a slight rattle for me, but it's in areas I can't access (inside of door frame)

Step 4: reassembly took me the longest. Quick tip, there are 6 removable metal clips on the top of the door. See the slots in the 2nd Pic. Remove all the metal clips from the inner plastic door card and apply them directly to the door frame along with the rubber window gasket. See picture 3. You may need a trim removal tool to remove the metal clips all safely from the inner door. Its hard to exaplin but this will make sense when you're doing it yourself. Just study the difference in my 2nd/3rd Pic. You'll see the difference on the top.

I also tightened the metal clips with pliers so they don't rattle. I initially left the metal clips on the inner frame/card and tried to slide them back into the frame. I tried for 30 minutes like an idiot.

Step 4: just reassemble. Making sure you don't break a clip. One rattle point is the plastic trim piece behind the door handle. Mine had a little play in it, so I put some foam tape inside so it sit more flush.

Good luck!

+1 to that. No videos for me. I have a rattle in my driver's door that has been present since the SC replaced the door panel. Rescheduling and taking the truck back in is such a hassle. I've taken plenty of door panels off, but I'm getting hung up on some secret fastener.
