I drove down from Monterey Car Week yesterday around 7:30 AM en route to PHX. I decided to avoid LA/Palm Springs and go the Bakersfield>Barstow>Needles route. Hit a few storm cells and a nasty dust storm once I was in AZ, but nothing too intense.

ventured out a few hours ago in San Diego. Moderate rain - nothing crazy , but we needed coffee and I wanted to try her out in some rain ?

AT20 felt super solid. Driver+ worked well.. until it didn’t. I got a “blurred camera warning” once while on driver+ , which disengaged everything including cruise , and once while driving normal. Interesting data point.
For the day you felt what its like to be a PNW Driver+ driver.

The acceleration is fully adjustable by the driver's foot, it has nothing to do with the vehicle or the weather.
Tesla's have Chill mode and Rivian Quad-Motor configs have conserve mode.

Both of those will dampen throttle response.

Snow mode also likely considerably reduces throttle response, but I haven't tried it in the rain.

Now these are just driver aids. It's really up to the driver to drive according to the conditions.

PNW raised. Been rolling my eyes at the hysteria all week.
Not sure its really hysteria.

Their roads simply aren't designed for rains like ours. It's not just the roads, but entire drainage systems.

My GF ended up spending something like $300 for a pump system, and killing her wrist+back building a dam (out of bags of gravel) in front of her first door (first floor of a Condo where the drainage system doesn't work so well).

Not sure if she really needed to do or if the Mechanical Engineer in her used it as an excuse to be MacGyver for a day. Hence the whole idea of having a primary and backup.

I don't live their (in SD) because its just too expensive.

also Midwest…
It wasn’t even a proper thunderstorm.
Even though I am from the northwest I have seen much in my travels. I mean if it was a real Midwest storm or Texas storm then I could see about this. But just constant medium rain, I live for that.
