I completed the purchase of my R1T at the end of May. I received the title but never the registration or plates. Finally this past Friday I decided to call the MVA myself. I'd been going back and forth my guide for months without anyone really being able to tell me anything.

Turns out I never received my registration or plates because whoever filled out the paperwork only checked off title and they only paid the title fee. No paperwork was ever submitted or registration fee ever paid.

The guides are useless for these issues which isn't entirely their fault. Sounds like 3rd party companies handle this or fail to handle it. All the guides can do is request status from them and all they do is say it's okay.

I'll be going to the MVA to pay the fee myself and walk out with plates. Not worth waiting for Rivian to try and figure it out.

If you've been waiting for either a title or registration/plates I would highly encourage you to check for yourself. At least in Maryland all they need is the VIN number or your driver's license number to look it up.

In CA, it’s tax, title, & license. If you paid the license fee through Rovian and pay it again, then Rivian should reimburse you for said fee.

We have the same in Maryland. I do plan to work on getting the registration fee part refunded.
