Illinois Tax Credit

Saw this on another forum, and thought I'd share in case anyone who's in Illinois hadn't seen it. Sometimes having a later order pays!

"To help make it happen, the state is offering a $4,000 rebate if you buy an EV in Illinois, and rebates of up to 80% for the cost to install a charging station. Both incentives start July 1, 2022. Buyers will need to apply for the rebates within 90 days of purchase. The incentives can be applied to new or used EVs. "

As written the wording in the bill said you have to buy from an Illinois "dealer" and it could be interpreted to only include Chicago and the collar counties. There was talk that it would be expanded to the entire state in a technical correction bill but as far as I know that has not happened.

I got the same estimate and was going to ask the guide to make the purchase on July 1st whenever they reach out to me. $4k is a decent chunk of change to wait a month for.
