Improved AC (colder and stronger) after OTA 22.23

My first real gripe, I never had any issues with AC, but now it is hitting 90 regularly.... When I start the car if it is parked in the sun the AC whirs at what sounds like full speed, audible even up to 30 MPH. Seems like it was the OTA, but I could be totally wrong.

I'm just glad to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem. On startup the compressor is reaching "I need hearing protection" levels of noise. I guess this is 'normal' - but wow it sounds terrible. Won't be surprised if it fails in a few months.

it's not 22.23.. it was pointed out and corrected as "23.22" as in "Version 2023.22.0" at earlier post (page 1)
You should already have it I would think. I've got notification on my phone like over a week ago to update it.

speaking of AC noise... besides the noise I feel the vibration through the driver side floor.. haven't tried on the passenger side. Is that normal?

I would think that it had to be more expensive to produce and install the glass roof in the R1T than to just have a solid metal roof. The glass roof is also somewhat counter productive when it comes to air conditioning the cabin. Putting a panoramic glass roof in a pick-up truck is like unto installing a screen door in a submarine.

The first three things that we did to our R1T were:

1. Cover the glass roof. The AC works much better and you can see your phone screen.
2. Remove the aero wheel covers. The truck looks much better.
3. Remove and store the camp speaker. This takes 5# of useless weight out of the truck.

1) What did you use to cover your roof? During my wrap, I had them tint mine but I wouldn't consider it "covered".

3) I thought the camp speaker did double duty as also functioning as part of the audio system when docked. If that's not actually true I might do this as well. More to reduce wear/stress on the speaker's batteries than anything else though.

I don't know if mine is actually 'the compressor' - nose comes from Driver Front, compressor is driver rear?

I can’t speak for the R1T, but for the R1S the compressor is located behind the frunk cavity and forward of the windshield.
I found a Reddit thread about this issue. It explained why my wife was complaining about the throttle pedal vibrating, the AC noise vibration can get so bad that the floor and pedals vibrate.

This doesn't seem right. Wife's R1S does get noisy when first cooling off in the Texas heat but doesnt vibrate like how you described. My R1T does sounds loud at initial start but I leave the truck out on the driveway so it takes a bit more "oomph" to get it cooled. No tint on roof, no roof shade but I do use a windshield shade to try to keep things a bit shady.

I enabled the recirc feature and that seems to help in 90+. (I also try to remember to hit the climate button before I walk to it)

Same thing happened to us! A/C conked out in 113-degree weather — had to drive five hours with family in scorching Arizona heat with windows wide open. R1T now in shop; no time estimate yet.

Update: RSC in San Diego found a fault in a temperature sensor in the refrigerant line. Took a day to get the part and all was fixed in 48 hours. Got back across the desert comfortably!
