Hunting for a transmission code in these forums might take a while…

I am not a current owner but hope to be an R1T owner by the end of the year. I currently drive a Ram pickup truck but not new to EVs (owned 2 Teslas). My biggest concern is service. It looks like Atlanta is the closest service center (5 hours away). I see a lot more Rivians around my local area so I need to look into whether mobile service is an option. Nothing mentioned in the FL thread but will continue to search. Either way I am excited to get into an R1T sooner rather than later. This forum has been very useful and look forward to interacting with everyone.

We are along the west end of 30A. We have had Opal (our R1T) for fourteen months. She now has 7,000 miles on her. We took Factory Delivery in Normal and drove her home.

Thus far, Opal has performed flawlessly (knock on wood). We would have thought that by now there would be closer Rivian service. They are opening a service center in Jacksonville, but it is the same distance from here as Atlanta. Rivian needs to get on the stick with service availability before they put hundreds of thousands of R2's out on the street.

I'm glad to hear Opal (great name) has been flawless and I hope that continues. I looked at the future service center map already and it doesn't look promising. It took Tesla a long time to open the SC in Pensacola and I imagine it will be awhile for Rivian to do the same. Anything from Mobile to Panama City Beach would be fine with me. I agree that if R2's start showing up the way Tesla's are around here than Rivian better be able to service them. I am stubborn so I doubt the lack of a local SC option dissudes me from getting an R1T though. Thanks for the response!

We live in Pensacola and see plenty of rivians these days. I've only had to drive to service once for a quick recall last summer on r1t. Was on the way back from TN so worked out well. I've never used mobile service but someone I work with who lives in Gulf breeze has used mobile once or twice I think.

Agree with everyone on hopefully service eventually being somewhere on the Gulf Coast. Perhaps Pensacola, mobile, or Gulfport would cover everyone. Better than 5 hours to Atlanta.

I drive down 98 to work every day and have noticed an increase in R1S's for sure. Good to hear you've only had to make 1 SC trip so far. I'd be interested to hear about the availability of mobile service in our area. Gulf Breeze is just down the road from me. If mobile service does exist that certainly helps alleviate some of the concern. Thanks for the info!

I have been under the impression that Mobile Service is not available past 100 miles from a Service Center. Correct me if I am wrong. I just can't see them coming out 300 miles from Atlanta or Jacksonville.

Happy adventuring, everyone! Just took delivery of a beautiful ’24 R1T Quad Large in El Cap. This truck was my white whale for a few weeks, after inventory dwindled and there seemed to be no Quads left anywhere in the US. I wanted a Quad with the A/T package and free Stealth wrap, so when I saw this one available in San Jose, I jumped on it. With the lease credit and F&F discount, it’s a steal (relatively speaking)! Also, of note, Rivian gave me a great trade-in offer, which made the transaction even easier.

Hoping to make it out to the Groveland RAN site opening next week...

Congrats on your new baby. May she serve you well. After a year and a half, we still love our dear Opal.

Congrats on the new truck! You definitely got lucky with that config!

Be sure to stop by the Bay Area Rivian Club booth/table when you’re in Groveland!

Or…if you’ve got time today, we’ll be out in San Carlos at AutoVino from 11a-2p! Come and hang out with us!
