Someone in central Iowa got their Rivian yesterday! Anyone on this board? The reason I know is that the MSP Service Center sent along a replacement floormat for our R1T (our clips fell apart) with the delivery and they stopped by our house to drop it off on the way back to MSP. Congrats to whoever got theirs!! By the way, the MSP SC is great! Very responsive and helpful. They also proactively reached out to me about registration paperwork that was not filled out correctly (on their part) and are mailing the corrections to us to get signed. (they would have brought the paperwork yesterday, but my wife is out of town)

Yesterday I got my documents, today I got the refund check. Yesterday afternoon I scheduled a "Title Services" appointment at the Polk County Treasurer. First available date was Oct 13, so that's not ideal. The walk-in wait times can be over 2hrs so that's not great either. I might try to get in there as soon as they open some day next week, we'll see.

Yikes. My registration showed up in the mail today ... and it's interesting.

First, they registered my truck with the plates from my trade-in, but those plates expired in May. So they had to pay the $143 late fee. But I want to keep those plates (hence why I didn't renew myself), so we'll see what the DMV says on Monday when I try to pick up the new personalized plates.

Also, anyone else notice the List Price on your registration says $79,500 for a Launch Edition. Considering my actual purchase for the vehicle was $75,300, that screws me out of $42 each year. Not sure if that number comes from Rivian or the state DOT though.

This morning while taking kids to school I spotted a white R1T sitting in front of DSM Auto and Tint on Ankeny Blvd. Looked to have had some tint on the windows & light bars at least.

I'd be interested to know what work was done, how it turned out, and how much it cost. I am interested in doing some tint, and still need to decide if I'm doing any PPF or ceramic.

I don't think you are going to do any better cost-wise than the XPEL program but I'm not sure who the local installer is. https://www.xpel.com/pmp/rivian

I am friends with the GM of a small Chrysler/Jeep dealer in Belle Plaine and he has a one-person shop that does ceramic at a really low cost. PM me if you are interested in contact information for them. Full disclosure - I haven't used them yet because I didn't know it existed until a couple of months ago. I plan to ppf the front and then get ceramic on everything if I ever actually get my R1S.

I was very polite and the nice lady let me go without having the old plates. The county said there was another penalty fee on it that they were confused about, so they called the state and I waited 15 minutes, but they came back and said I was good to go.

I asked about the higher price and she said it came from the DOT. I haven't had time to call them and ask about it though.

You can thank our local legislature. I get making up the difference on loss of gas tax; however, you'll need to drive more than the average American to make up the difference. Plus increased tax per kW on public charging. Iowa claiming to like alternative fuels means ethanol>> electrons.

It was good! Lots of people walking around and loving the Rivians. I took @LeDiable with me and we did some tailgating. Between the 2 of us, we were answering questions the entire time. We also met @trmaier there, so good to see another one.

Something I noticed - I've been around EV's so much that it seems so normal to me, and almost bland, but everyone was so excited to see my truck that I have to remind myself we have something special!

I got RJs but not one specific to me with my vin. I'm in 6000s so assume I'm impacted.

I have a service appointment for next week but now I see they are charging for towing. Might have to cancel. A tow to KC would be a lot of $$.

I’m still not sure they are charging for warranty issue towing. I saw a thread a couple days ago but it wasn’t clear. A friend has his R1T going down end of October and they aren’t charging him. It’s warranty work.
