I needed an extension for my portable charger so I don’t have to park inside the garage while the garage door is halfway open since my truck doesn’t fit inside. With the extension, I can just park outside and leave a little gap for the cable to pass through. Found a Lectron brand 40ft extension at Amazon but I only need 20ft which is only sold at the company’s website for less $$. Plus, I found a coupon which brings down the price to $170 ($90 less than the 40ft). Ordered it in the middle of March, got confirmation email that day but that was it. 12 days later, still no info about shipping so I emailed them and waited for days but didn’t get any reply. Weired thing is when I tried to DM them through twitter, my message can’t be sent but instead get this:

So after 2 weeks without hearing from them, I disputed the charge on my credit card.
Got refunded a few days later and also got an email from them that my order was canceled.
Posted a review in Amazon but they declined to post my review.

Sorry you had a bad experience, I ordered my 48A home charger from them and it arrived promptly and has been happily charging for months.
I had reached out to clarify operation before buying and they quickly replied with a "we will get back to you" and then had a full answer within 36 hours.
After that it was just 3 days between ordering and delivery in October.

I have a Tesla adapter and an extension cable from them. It's been working for a couple of years now.

I’m guessing it must be the coupon I came up with. They had a coupon for 5% off and I just change the code/number from 5 to 10 and got lucky it worked for 10% off. They probably didn’t want to ship the product for less.

Sounds like you're the shady one here then, making up your own coupons.

I ordered an adapter from them last year.

-Month goes by crickets

-Email them about my order said it should ship soon as the were restocking their inventory and they apologized for the delay

-3 weeks go by email them again, SAME PERSON I emailed before tells me they don’t ship to Canada and they cancelled my order…

promptly ordered a Teslatap and never dealing with Lectron again.

Really? You eff with them, and then complain about them not filling your order? You're getting exactly what you deserve.

I think it’s a little harsh to blame OP for the lack of communication. I’ve worked at a few e-commerce companies as an engineer and what he did is not uncommon at all (try to guess coupon codes). If they were upset or didn’t want to honor his coupon they should have just cancelled instead of going radio silent.

That particular extend cord has been backordered for at least a few weeks. I also have one in order and was notified by Lectron about the backorder. I just received a Tesla adaptor and a Tesla extension cord though, they are a legit company.

In the future I'd recommend not unnecessarily complicating a topic by bringing up an unrelated issue. The twitter issue you posted about has nothing to do with Lectron, and instead its an issue with your twitter account. Probably because twitter is on fire and is burning to the ground.

As to Lectron I went through a similar path where I ordered from them because Amazon was out of stock. But, I made sure the Lectron one was in stock before ordering.

Sadly we live in a time where it's difficult to order electrical components that are out of stock.

There are so many supply chain issues that these companies have no idea when they're going to be able to ship stuff.

You'd expect them to at least communicate, but they don't.

Maybe in the future companies like this will have ChatGPT driven customer service chats where you can simply cancel an order when it says "we simply have no idea when your adapter will ship".

The coupon works! Retailers always have web specials. Promotional ads, emails and web specials sometimes have different discounts and knowing which one has the best offer will do the trick. I wasn’t eff’ng them, just bring smart. Glad I disputed that rather than waiting forever or dealing with non-existent customer service.
What would you do if it was you?

Yes, a simple reply like “shipment delayed” would have been fine.
About the twitter, it may not be related. It could be twitter itself. Nothing wrong with my account. I made sure I was able to send messages and it worked. I’ve learned that online companies that do not show physical address or contact phone numbers are most likely hard to deal with when it comes to support/ customer service in my experience.
