We are sitting in the car avoiding the rain during my son's soccer practice. Tried to chromecast Disney+ from my phone for my daughter and it's unwatchable, like 1-2 frames per second. We have Connect+ and decent signal as well as good 5G in my cell. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I just connect to trucks wifi and cast from the app. YouTube app is working great right now but the selection is limited...

Any help appreciated!

It's not you. It just kinda sucks. It crashes frequently with most streaming services. I've never had luck with Disney or Hulu.

Oddly, it works fine streaming Outside+.

It seems very service dependent.

It's hit or miss. Works sometimes. I've used it with Hulu, Prime Video, HBO, Peacock. When it really doesn't want to work, I've had to reset the infotainment system and I've found a phone restart sometimes helps as well. It's definitely the Rivian integration (and/or AT&T) though as Chromecast works great at home.

Well on the plus side, I discovered a new thing I love about EVs. We sat for about an hour and fifteen minutes with climate and streaming going and used about 2.5kWh, so like $0.30 in electric. I never would have sat in my ICE truck idling for that long and it would have cost me about $4.50 in gas at current prices

I had a bunch of issues with buffering, but the service center had me do a hard reboot and it’s worked well since then. 🤷

I've sat in standstill traffic for two hours with AC on blast in a Florida summer and watching Youtube videos. Battery only went down 2% in that time.

Every time somebody ask me about worrying about "losing all the battery when struck in traffic", I tell that story. An EV would run out of power way past the point where every other ICE vehicle would run out of gas.

It's wonderful. Guilt free idling.

I have never had issues with casting except for from my phone's end on YoutubeTV and that includes sitting at a charger in Auburn, NE. Disney+ works great for us and if I'm patient, YTTV eventually gets there, but that's on my phone's end, not the truck's.

It is bad. I would rather have the built in apps rather than cast option

Agreed. It never consistently works for me. Maybe 1/10 times it works without crashing. Hope they can integrate a solution like earlier comments.
