Is my R1 possessed?

I got very comfortable with the lack of issues since getting my R1S last September. However, since the last OTA update the car does random things that can only be explained by the paranormal. For example, the passenger mirror was folded while parked one day. On another all the doors opened as normal except for the drivers door. Yesterday in particular was very frightening. The garage door button wouldn't work. I had to endure sitting in the rain for 2 minutes. But, being resilient and immensely patient , I continued thumping on the steering wheel button until the garage did open. Should I consult a shaman?

I would suggest a couples therapy with your R1S?.

i am still on version 2 of the software . I have seen the video freeze quite often for me; but not the ones you talk about. I have not opened a ticket, as I assume the Rivian is looking at telemetry. Yours sound like hard reset and if you still have issues, call the service center.

Before turning to your local Shaman I know it sounds a lame question but have you tried a hard reset on your R1?
That supposed to restart all ECUs.

Such random issues sounds a but like a calibration issue after an OTA (on one of the ECUs the new SW version has a new NvM layout but some old values are stuck at old places instead of being cleared, or something similar. Or they moved some CAN frame content around).

The button on the screen still works in a situation where it's not popping up to be activated from the wheel, not sure if that's what your issue was.

I had the same driver mirror/lock issue the other day! I chatted with service and they made me think I was crazy, but I’ve had several “possessed” issues like this on the latest software (2024.07.02)

I’m convinced my R1S is playing games with me. When folding the mirrors to back out of the garage, the left mirror folds before the right mirror. But then alternates between which will fold first and unfold first.

I had the same driver door issue after the last update. My wife unlocked from the big screen and it’s been fine since.

The door handle/mirror issue is supposed to be addressed in the next software release. I've had that issue happen a couple of times myself.

I have found that adaptive cruise has been really bad on this s/w version causing the car to break when oncoming cars are still in their own lane.

My steering wheel randomly moves about every 20th time I get in the truck. I don't use the "easy entry" or whatever that setting is, but it's definitely moving when it feels like it.
