Aren’t the ABB ones that have always had issues with Rivian and the Signet are the trouble free ones?
@SeaGeo
They're just amperage limited. I haven't actually heard of any connection issues though. For example, Kyle had zero issues from CO to AZ and back on them.

I‘m not even sure if the amperage limit still exists, I haven’t encountered it in a couple months, including my whole trip to the SW.

That would be fantastic. I wasn't looking forward to looking at manufacturer stamps every time. Lol.

Maybe @OutofSpecKyle can tell us. Since he reported on the issue and now has an R1T.

Three hours later and it works!!!!

Resetting didn't work, but turning off gear guard and walking away for 10 minutes did the trick.

EA did say this "known issue" is "random".

Adventure on!

By reset do you mean an infotainment reset (left and right of steering wheel, 15s) or a hard reset (left steering and hazard button, 15s)?

I would be surprised if a sleep cycle fixed something a hard reset couldn’t, but a sleep cycle is less intrusive and a better solution.

Still interested in seeing exactly what the error was, it might help others who encounter the same issue.

Ah Ok.
I was under the impression during the initial stages of the R1T, most of the charging issues, especially not initiating charging were with ABB chargers and didn't happen with Signets.

There were a lot of charging issues, that I am losing track of now.

I could have missed them. I haven't heard of any consistent issues like what Volvo had with rhe xc40 initially.

Can you open a service ticket and have Rivian analyze the logs to figure out what happened?
If it was a Charger issue or a Rivian issue.

Doesn't Rivian save and upload the most immediate logs when you hit the SOS button or something?

On my first long road trip and the EA station north of Waco is completely useless. All 350KW chargers are not turned on.

Two 150KW stations are also down. All other 6 chargers (150K) give charging errors ... Have been on the phone with EA for over an hour plugging unplugging installing apps adding credit cards authorizing remote charges, etc.

Bolt and i3 are changing no problem, and I have used two other CCS chargers (charge point / Austin Energy).

Frustrating. Still on hold with EA and then will give Rivian a call (although I don't think it is a Rivian issue).

Will have to limp to nearest charge point and cross my fingers. The road home will be even more difficult.
I used that station last week and it was good to go. I was able to charge on one of the 350kw units. Guess EA is hit or miss.

Does anyone know if there’s a way on PlugShare to filter to only show reviews from Rivian drivers?

To answer some of the questions, a soft reset didn't work (left and right buttons). I didn't know about the hard reset, good to know.

Also to clarify EA said that the 350KW chargers work, and plugshare shows a Rivian success there too, but today (actually since May 23rd) the 350KW chargers are off. Repair attempts have been made and EA said they don't know what is wrong with the 350KW chargers and it may be days, weeks or months for them to fix (their words).

One tip I found is that plugshare and Rivian doesn't always show the stations, for example I am in Ennis, TX now and Rivian/plugshare show 150KW but there are 350KW chargers here!

That's the good news (it works), the bad news is that it is maxing out at 39KW :(

Thanks for the update. Sounds very similar to the issue I have encountered now a few times. Hope Rivian fixes this soon!

The saga continues (Ennis, TX) ... Thought I would try the 150K spots here and two of them are non operational.

One station shares a 150KW CCS and 50KW chademo, and the CCS charged at 165KW!

I will try one more EA charger this weekend on this trip.

Also, while I was waiting for a spot to open in Waco, someone came up to me and said "Hey, I saw you trying to charge here and I think you are paying for my charge because it just started charging without asking."

When I plugged in and it "worked" as well without logging in. At the end it said "Thank you, Free" instead of my name and then it showed a charge, then a discount of the same and Total of $0". It then went to the main screen and said "complimentary".

So maybe the sleep cycle fixed it, or maybe EA switched those chargers into some free for all mode which made it work.
