If you have proximity off, does phone as key still work? I seen to remember putting my phone up against the handle or the inside door to unlock once and it vibrated acknowledging NFC. But yesterday I tried moving my car in the driveway and didn't have my key, I tried my phone and it refused to work. Even after turning proximity back on, I could see my contacts and the phone connected to the car, but it still wanted a key.
The PaaK still works without proximity, I use it that way everyday. That said, the NFC functionality doesn't work with your phone. If you have NFC 'ON' on your phone (which I assume you do) the phone will vibrate when it comes into contact with another NFC device (like your tap to pay enabled credit cards, NFC badges, other NFC phones, etc...) but that doesn't mean that they are functional together; it just means they recognize another NFC device.I haven’t had proximity key enabled for months. I do believe that my phone still has worked as a key on multiple occasions.
When the No key issue happens to me (I think it sometimes gets confused when multiple keys are used/present) I simply lock and unlock with the app a few times, and it seems to work well after that.
