My recommendation is that before writing off Kia EV6 you should test drive one.

We test drove Tesla Y, Volvo XC40 Recharge(EV), Mach e and the EV6 GT-Line. All were in the same, higher trim level. IMHO the EV6 GT-Line has a higher end feel and look than the others.

I am not trying to convince anyone that the EV6 is the best thing out there. Just don’t write it off your list because it is Kia without checking it out.
Not sure why you quoted my post to say this. A few posts up I said I've been pushing my parents to get one instead of the Mach-E they already bought. Personally, I think the EV6 and stablemates Ioniq 5 / GV60 are going to be the commodity EVs to beat in the near term. They need to improve the navigation software, but that goes for all non-Tesla EVs at this point.

We live in ID and our dealer is Kendall Kia. The overall
experience was great.

We did not have a reservation as Kia was not taking any. I signed up for updates and chose Kendall. From the time I signed up for the updates to driving the EV6 off the lot was about 2 weeks. The dealership called me on 2/8/22 and provided a list of EV6s coming in. I chose one and put down a $1,000 refundable deposit. Two days later Kendall said the car had arrived. They had the car ready for pickup Saturday morning 2/12/22. The process was painless.
That's great! In SoCal, our local dealer has 60+ EV6's and they said if I came in, they'd do everything possible to get me the car at around $3k over MSRP. I asked to seen the window sticker of the one I was looking at, and never received it. In my research, it looks like $60k is MSRP for the 1st edition GT-Line.

With the markup, and being about a $12k difference from my LE R1S, it doesn't make sense for a number of reasons. But, mainly, I feel the R1S is a much more suitable vehicle for my family and worth the extra premium and much better value even when comparing to other EV's currently available that the EV6 competes with.

I spoke to a dealer near Atlanta today, they had 2 EV6's available now, got exited and started taking about price. He told me sticker is 59k and they were asking 79k .. 20k over sticker. Said even if I did a reservation, they are going to add 20k as premium. WTH .. asked him if he thought I was crazy to pay 20k over msrp!! .. he just laughed and said, you will be surprised how many ppl are willing to. I'd rather wait another year and half for my R1S.

I prefer the over-grown hothatch look of its kin, the Hyundai Ionic5.
It's great to have options! I go back and forth on them myself.

Seems like Kia and Hyundai ramped up pretty quickly. Nice to have more EVs to check out.

I have only had my EV6 GT-Line for 2 days and it is a blast. No ADM

We had an MME ordered but walked away due to Ford and dealership incompetence and screw ups.

Congrats, that is a great looking and performing EV. Impressive kit in the GT-Line as well. Charging curve is tremendous with the 800v setup and the dual motor is quick.

I get the Kia brand snobbery and lesser dealer doodads, but the Koreans deserve credit for the EV6 and Iconiq, and Genesis seems to be earning their way up the luxury food chain.
