I have Kneel Mode set however it does not Kneel until after we have exited the vehicle. My wife is short and this would help her exit. Does anyone know how to make it Kneel when placed in Park right away. Thank you

It should start right when you put it in park. If you open the door, it will stop.

Make sure you aren't opening the door until its done. If you do, it waits until you've exited and closed the doors.

Both my FIL and I have an R1S. The first few weeks we turned on knell mode, we've had to remined our wives to leave the door shut for a moment LOL. Especially since my MIL complains how high the R1S is.

The "slowness" of kneel mode made me get running boards instead. Me and my family are also "vertically challenged"
My wife says she is not short, or vertically challenged.. She is Fun Sized! (she is 4'10")

If you look at your speedometer cluster, in the lower right hand corner, after you put it in park, the suspension indicator will kinda blink to show that its going into kneel mode. It will stop the blinking once it stops.

This reminds me that I really need to get my running boards installed!

It used to (I say used to as I’ve noticed it suddenly does start to kneel on my driveway that’s on a slope now) not kneel if the grade was too steep for it (not sure why) so that could be a factor - if you know it’s not going to kneel, you can work around this by selecting “Sport” a moment before arriving and it’ll go to its lowest height.

Reset software and retest. Always. If reset does not clear glitch it’s time to contact Support or submit a service request.

Search for “3 types of resets”. Read first post of that thread and commit to memory. What you learn there is the top essential tool to have in your toolbox, in your Rivian ownership.

The vehicle does not have a ground clearance sensor. That is why in best conditions it is programed to kneel only to low. It’s also why it doesn’t kneel on inclines. It’s to avoid damage in case obstacles are present.

Since about the time 2024.47.30 came out, mine has been very slow to kneel in my driveway which is a slight slope. kneels faster (normally) in flat parking lots but slow, partially or not at all in my driveway. It also got cold about that time so not sure if that may have affected it. It seemed to kneel better yesterday when I got home but it was warmer than it has been for weeks. None of the resets or 2024.51.30 made any difference.

Kneel mode is also the same height as Low suspension.

Same here, I used to use Kneel mode all the time; but once I had my running board, I only make the car higher when I parked so I don't get dink as easily. Another advantage is when the space is too tight, I can get in-and-out much easier with the running board.

+1 I was using kneel until I put running boards on. Running boards are much better than kneel mode for us.
