Agreed, but with a vehicle where the primary interface is a giant touchscreen the likelihood of it being needed as a backup is higher. That's honestly the only reason I leave LKA on, but it is damn aggressive on a curvy road.
I have not experienced many drives where I find need to interact with the screens, once underway. YMMV

I wish that there was a fast, easy way to disable/enable lane keeping assist.

I like using it when on stretches of highway, but sometimes things happen where you need/want to drift over a line. Construction, mountain curves, other crazy drivers, etc.

Please give me a fast way to toggle lane keeping assist without diving into multiple menus and scrolling.

What I really want is a customizable display, where I can surface easy to reach toggles for whatever settings I want. Not tiny little toggle switches, but larger squares I can turn on and off without having to look and aim my finger all that hard.

Something like this:

Toggle turn signal in the direction of desired drift(or lane change) makes the “wall” for steering much softer to break, doesn’t kill standard CC

That's a good workaround available now. Thank you.

During my trip from SF to Seattle, I still found myself in mountain passes and construction zones where I wanted to disable lane keeping for a stretch. There are also certain sections of roads on a route I travel regularly where there are cracks / lines in the road the car thinks are lane markers. I just keep the lane keeping off, so not a big deal, but I still would dig a fast on/off toggle.

Rivian is Overdue for update to additional roads in Driver +, and significant improvement to lane keeping abilities/smoothness.
