Reservation 12/08/2021. Confirmed configuration 11/03/2023, delivery estimate stayed the same Dec2023-Jan2024, Guide assigned but no VIN, nor 8-step started. BUT today (11/08/2023) found the exact same configuration in the R1 shop and took it. My assigned VIN is 27xxx, no information on build date, but I'm starting 8-step process. Very excited!
Config: R1S, Quad, Large Pack, LA Silver, Ocean Coast Interior, 21" Wheels, Underbody Shield.
Picking up our second Rivian Friday from Phoenix SC. Joining my 11xxx R1T Launch Edition will be a R1S Quad Motor, LA Silver, Ocean Coast Interior (no dark ash), 20" A/T Dark, Adventure Package w/ Tow Hooks. VIN 26XXX.
Just this morning, my Rivian account showed that my vehicle was ready to start the purchasing process. R1S LE Large Pack, Red Canyon, OC/dark wood interior, 20" Brite wheels. VIN 28XXX. The
NHTSA decoder returned this: Error Text: 1 - Check Digit (9th position) does not calculate properly
It's not clear to me what that actually means.
We reserved adventure trim El cap with 22" wheels on 12/2021.
Picked a LE from shop a few days ago with same color and wheels with vin XPN0204xx. I haven't asked my guide about build date but from reading here, it seems our R1S is a few months old.
We did save the $1800 by going with LE for the free wheel upgrade, so that was nice.
Our guide said we should be able to pick it up in 1-2 weeks in El Segundo SC.
I ended up picking a LE, LG/BM with 20 inch rims and RUS last night. Got a 202xx vin. I am guessing its July 2023 build 5-6 months old. I was initially going to wait for MY 2024 but decided get the car before Christmas =)
Awww, I can't believe we let this thread die. So what are people seeing lately? I was in the Austin showroom for the 4th, and the Gen2 R1S they had on display was around VIN 35xxx if I recall correctly.
EDIT: Oh you know what, I think it was ~43xxx on second thought. (They were feeding us beer sorry lol)
