Was holding out for a config with the Premium Audio and Dynamic Roof, which was hard to come by and took a lot of shop stalking. Originally wanted green with the regular 22s, but very happy with this setup. Love the vehicle so far.

What are your thoughts on the Dynamic Roof and the Premium Audio. The Roof seems to not be on any recent shop R1S models. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Dynamic Roof: +/- worth it for the average owner. I wasn't going to pass it up just in case it was amazing (and also for the talking point when showing the car off). We find it useful for blocking out the high sun in the middle of the day, particularly for our infant in the second row. Not sure it does a whole lot of heat blocking. It's slightly milky when transparent but not awful. It's quite opaque white when "on." You can look directly at the sun through it. Other companies have done it better, IMO, but it still accomplishes the objective. It does seem to be completely out of stock as an option in the shop currently (have a family member that I'm also stalking the shop for; they want premium audio and dynamic roof also). Not sure if that's a supply issue or a specific focus of Rivian's based on demand.

Premium audio: Slightly above average among car audio systems I've experienced (Bose, B&O, Harmon Kardon, a few others). Also wasn't going to pass it up in case Atmos was amazing and no subwoofer in an $80-100k car is ridiculous (base system). The metal speaker grilles look a lot more upscale as well. Don't have any comparison to Gen 1 systems.

I have a Gen 1 R1S and the premium audio system is very good in it. I’m looking for a gen2 R1S as I have a remaining pre price increase voucher. I might pass on the dynamic roof if it isn’t available as we near the end of our voucher being valid (Sept 30). The AT option colors are very limited right now but hopefully they are ramping up production. Probably will miss my 2023 quad but who knows, 20% discount can’t be missed. I have the same take on the Dynamic Roof. I visited the new San Diego space last weekend to check it out. They had a demo drive vehicle outside and I saw both settings of the Dynamic Roof under full midday sun. It does block a lot of the sunlight and overhead glare in my opinion. I don't believe it will help with heat buildup.

In the end, I'm happy I selected a shop order with the Dynamic Roof for what it appears to provide.

Been scouring the shop for my desired spec and didn’t see it pop up for a few weeks. Finally pulled the trigger on a custom order 7/18 and, of course, my exact build showed up in the shop 7/19. My guide switched my custom build to the shop car and scheduled delivery is 8/23.
