Update: I now get the green screen when i put in reverse to back out on all the cameras. Was pulling out of an open parkling lot last night (tight parking spaces) and really could have used the cameras to help me...thankfully the sensors worked so i could hear loud beeping as i got close to nearby cars. I am also still getting those random still pictures when putting it in reverse too so will be reaching out to service center.

OP- thanks for starting this thread and sharing your experience and potential fixes!
Definitely submit services ticket and get that fixed. In the meantime, take that right arm, swing it over the passenger headrest and crank your head around to the back. This is a hack that has worked for the last 25 years of driving ? R1S has the least amount of blind spots than any of the cars we've owned.

I am having a similar issue with Izzy, my R1T. The gear guard cam has some random video, or a still with a bunch of color bars across the top, or the motion cam does not record anything, when I know it should.

Since my delivery date on July 28th, I have done the infotainment/soft reset(leftmost and rightmost steering wheel button hold) 3 times and the hard reset(leftmost steering wheel button and the sos button) once, earlier today. The issue perists.

I note this for others to know. I will reach out to service for help, since I need them. Fun times being a willing volunteer with a new company. But we love Izzy!!

This is a much bigger deal than just losing a camera. How much safer are cars with a functioning camera system? How many lives have been saved by seeing things earlier?

I understand using mirrors or throwing the arm around the seat and that works...unless a tiny tree is exactly in the blind spot and the sensors (and the cameras) are not working. Cameras are a crucial component to safety and the ability to operate any modern vehicle. Given the wait time in some of the service shops to fix the problem is 1-2 months, this is unacceptable. $20k quote due to equipment failure. No thanks. Already advised my friend to not accept his delivery in February. This is a $97k car that has basic functionality issues. Unacceptable.

@Rivian should be preparing a permanent fix or get ready for longer and longer wait times as more deliveries and failures occur.

I just had my cameras fail on me as I was getting out of Costco. Tried software, hard reset and putting it to sleep but no success. I contacted Rivian and it’s about 2 months out before they can repair the problem. There appears to be a significant amount of people that are having issues with the cameras and I feel Rivian should prioritize the repairs or find a reliable fix. I understand they are busy but I rely on the cameras when parking and backup since I have a rooftop tent. While I’m still capable of going old school. I am also paying for the safety and tech of this truck. Therefore, it would really be appreciated if Rivian can prioritize these issues especially if it’s a known issue.
