I get 8 hours per night of off-peak EV charging special rate of $0.05 per kWh...but after applying fuel cost adjustment, debt cost adjustment, sales taxes, etc., this rate gets marked up to $0.10 per kWh.

My cost to drive is about $0.05 per mile in R1T. I estimate the equivalent ICE rate (assuming 14 mpg) in this area would be about $0.21 per mile (for fuel only). Of course, this ignores any savings the EV has in maintenance costs.

If I have to use public DC fast charging, my EV cost increases to about $0.21 per mile - virtually the same as ICE vehicle.

I recently switched our electricity supply plan from a fixed rate (about $.12kWh for supply and delivery) to an hourly demand rate which seems to be quite low with occasional spikes in pricing. I don’t have enough long term data yet (complicated by the fact that I have solar w/ net metering) to make a full analysis yet. But so far, by limiting charging to overnight at home (Rivian 240v 48amp) I seem to be running around $.03-$.04kWh all-in). There have been a few hours where rates went negative. Nothing like getting paid to charge your EV!! But it will be important to avoid charging during a few key demand spikes. Christmas Eve rates went to almost $2.00kWh for a couple of hours!

Everyone here quoting per kwh rates from provider are you using the rate at time of use or figuring out per kwh once taxes and fees are added?
Provider rate + /kWh fees = fair assessment. You have to pay fixed fees as overhead regardless of the EV. Our Mason County cabin has a $50/month fee from the PUD but $.07/kWh because there are so many vacation homes, a higher /kWh rate would put more onus on year-round locals to pay more for the same infrastructure we use.

As such, I try to get to the cabin with 20% and leave with 85% ?. Rivian charging data sucks, it doesn't separate Rivian charger data from other charging, so no idea usage at the cabin without looking through my bills and doing long math.

Our primary home charging is 700kWh/month at $.11/kWh with PSE.

EA lifetime charging is 800 kWhs at $.31/kWh.

Approaching 20k miles... And it hasn't even been a year yet! I need a deployment to lower my average...

It costs me $0.816 / kWh from my Public Utility District in Washington State.
Typo?

$0.09/kWh from 9pm to 7am when I am scheduled to charge. I drive about 100 miles a day. I told myself (and wife) I would be saving a lot of money on gas to justify the cost but didn’t actually expect that to be true.

We charge mostly at home: $.135 kWh. We’re averaging under $40/mo over the first three months of ownership. We’ve don’t two road trips and used EA chargers, but they are still about 1/3 what it would have cost us to fill up our Macan which averaged less than 20mi per gallon, or the Jeep Grand Cherokee which averaged 16-18.

Hate to hijack this for my own selfish needs but here goes. We have a place up in McHenry County and I've been considering solar. How long have you had it? Who installed? Are you happy with it?

Use super off-peak rates 11 pm-7am exclusively, Georgia Power rate is 1.42 cents per kWh. 100 kWh costs $1.42 to travel an average of 2.3 miles/kWh or 230 miles. Pretty hard to beat this!
