Longer than that. I'm on day 10 waiting for my membership application to be approved and you can't do anything until you are a member. I spoke to someone this morning and they said due to the backlog of applications, they are expecting at least 2 weeks just to get a membership approved let alone a loan.
Have you applied for your loan as well? I spoke to someone today about their incomplete instructions, and she said she couldn't do anything about membership, but it sounded like the loan processor/officer might be able to push things through if membership is the hold-up. But who knows?

And with them jacking the rates up to 5.5%, I suspect they're about to get a lot less busy!

Finalizing a Parsons refinance now, 3.99% with autopay from one of their checking accounts. It's taken forever, had to become a member first, then I got passed around people for weeks until I started to make a stink, I think they're indunated right now.

I have applied for the loan yes. I’m conditionally approved at the moment but they won’t process anything until I have a member number and I keep getting the runaround from the membership department. So it’s two different applications that I’m basically waiting for. I’m hoping my rate is locked but I’m not sure until I get my final loan paperwork.

My preapproval email listed the 2.99% rate, and they sent it today (after the increase), so my belief is that we’ll get the rate. I also got a Parsons preapproval at 4% so hope that one works out.

But post here if they won’t honor the 2.99 quote so I can make alternate arrangements!

I am preapproved for the same two rates 3% at tower and 4% at Parsons. I honestly was just going to pay cash but given I can get 4% on a high-yield savings account. If I can get the tower rate, I can actually make money on my loan.

I have similar logic, but we do have to recognize that the interest or dividend received on the high yield savings account is taxable, so the net yield is still 15-40% less than the car loan’s interest rate, depending upon your tax bracket. But having the cash on hand reduces my stress level, which can’t really be quantified.

True, its more about having the cash on hand than giving it to someone else - I am fortunate where I could pay cash, but don’t see a reason I need to with a rate of 3%.

Anyone have luck completing the loan with Tower FCU. Ive been approved and fulfilled all requested stips paid $35 to the Tower charity and no updates for a week. I was approved for 2.24% on 82k over 36 months. Also as a side note if they do fund me how the hell are they making money on me?.

2.24? That's lower than they were even advertising when I applied.

But I've been on "referred" for a week on my membership application, with no movement. Loan approved at 2.99. My R1S isn't ready, so it doesn't make a difference now, but I've had no luck asking them to expedite approval.

Just got an email from Tower that they'll approve my membership once I complete ACH verification; they've made 2 small deposits into my linked external account and once I confirm the amounts, I'll be moving forward. I don't see the deposits on my external account yet.

Anyone else go through this and remember how long it took to see the deposits once you got the email? I'm a Citi customer if that matters.

Interesting. I think this is because I wanted to link external accounts, not due to payment. But if I don't see the test deposits tomorrow, I'll give a call.
