Locked out of Rivian.com

I tried to get on rivian.com this morning to play with configs. All was good until I got to the "we'll send a flipping code" part, and the code never came. I checked spam multiple times and attempted a handful of times to try again. Eventually it locked me out. Then of course a got a batch of codes from Rivian. Oh well.

How long will I be locked out of Rivian.com?

Excited to see I get to order sometime between Dec and Feb. Couldn't help myself wanting to configure again. Darn it.

When Rivian enabled two factor authentication I had the same thing happen. I was locked out of my app which meant I could not use my phone to open the car but fortunately I had a key fob and key card with me. I waited a day and then I received the email with the code so I could log into the website. This last week I again had trouble but never received any emails at all. I kept checking my spam and nothing there. I contacted Rivian for help and they recommended:

add @rivian.com and [email protected] to your safe senders list

It was already added. I called Rivian a couple of times and no help. Then I decided to try the Rivian app on my phone. I was surprised to find by clicking on my account I could edit the two factor authentication methods. I added sending the code by text. That allowed me to choose a different method when logging into the website and have the code sent by text.

I recommend having the code sent as a text message since it is more reliable than an email which has no guarantees. Last week Rivian was sending out a lot of emails with the R2 launch and notices to everyone for when they could order. Their email server probably got overloaded. There are limits on emails to stop people that are sending streams of spam so this is reasonable.

Thank you SO much. I'll do that! Email can be very unreliable! I updated it with a text option. So hopefully when I get "unlocked" this won't happen again. Oh and I added [email protected] to my address book.

Can't do much more than that. Thanks again!
