More interior space, more efficient drivetrain, more luxury and creature comforts, huge screen, AA/CP, flat load frunk, 900V platform.

What’s not to like?

It’s a fantastic 3-row electric vehicle for suburban families.

Very hard to justify R1S vs gravity except for company viability concerns and/or real off-road needs

this definitely has the potential to take a bite out of R1S sales. if you haven't noticed 75-80% (maybe more) of R1S drivers are soccer moms so they don't really care about the offroad capabilities.

they want a 3 row, family vehicle. id guess this is going to have more family convenient features and be more luxurious than the R1S. if the 3rd row has at least the same room as the R1S, is in the same price range, and they can produce these soon, the R1S could take a big hit.
Lots of R1S pavement princesses, mine’s one, but the styling and knowledge it *can* kick ass off-road if I want to were big motivators. If I wanted a mini-van I could have had one with a lot less effort and cost.

Agree, targeting Tesla Model X and the like, not R1S or off road vehicles. Surprised at all the Rivian posters slamming it as not like Rivian, Lucid knows where the customer base is for these…

I think that windshield is going to cost a fortune to replace. Overall I think it looks like an interesting cross-over.

Apparently the Air windshield costs $2500 to replace. I bet the one on the Gravity will be more.

Sound about the going rate.

Even Rivian’s smaller windshield cost $2K from a service center and $3,500 from a certified collision center.

The Tesla Model X, with its even bigger windshield cost me $2,500 recently from the Tesla service center.

So, yes, somewhere around $2-$3K sounds about right.

But, that’s what insurance is for, right? I pay nothing out of pocket for my windshield replacements. And, I think many people do as well. Even with Rivian insurance.

The last time I had my windshield replaced the rain sensors never worked well again. But you are correct about insurance covering most of the cost.

Doesn't almost every car kinda look the same these days? The odyssey is a very practical & decent looking vehicle.
I am not saying I hate it. I am a big fan of minivans myself. One of the better vehicles I have driven from a utility/comfort/practicality perspective was a Dodge Grand Caravan which I had rented for a week when I moving houses a couple of years ago.

If I can convince my wife, I would go for the iD Buzz instead of the R1S. But she is set on the R1S.

That would likely save you a pile of $. I would take this if it was available(without the pop top).
