Dang, that's a good looking crossover. Lucid seriously screwed up by not offering this first.
Except for off road ability, this will be a serious competitor to the R1S. Based on what I'm seeing here, I'd buy the Lucid over the R1S. The biggest challenge to me buying one is whether or not I think Lucid can survive.

If it's priced around $80k they will sell. Definitely should have led with this vehicle. No one wants sedans anymore.

this definitely has the potential to take a bite out of R1S sales. if you haven't noticed 75-80% (maybe more) of R1S drivers are soccer moms so they don't really care about the offroad capabilities.

they want a 3 row, family vehicle. id guess this is going to have more family convenient features and be more luxurious than the R1S. if the 3rd row has at least the same room as the R1S, is in the same price range, and they can produce these soon, the R1S could take a big hit.

I disagree it’s a zero sum game. More alternatives in the large size EV market will attract more buyers, and each can get more customers. Bigger pie, bigger slices for everyone

I've driven the Lucid Air a few times. The software is a bit clunky, the interior was very nice, there was some creaking and rattling which would have bothered me if I was the owner. Acceleration and overall road feel was luxury car level. It's clear they have not invested as heavily in the software as Rivian / Tesla so it's good that it offers CarPlay.

I have never been a fan of the looks, but I know a lot of people that think it looks very nice. I think the SUV is a better concept and will sell loads better at any price compared to the sedan. They should invest heavily at getting this to market as soon as possible.

Funny how this lucid makes the Escalade look like it has an incredibly unnecessarily long hood.

For me, I would not look at this to replace the R1S but would take a serious look to replace our Model S, especially if you can realistically get over 350 miles on the road.

I had no idea that 75-80% R1S owners were soccer moms. Where did you find that out?
