I think it looks great. Then again, we've been hoping for an ID.Buzz(z?) for years so you can tell our priorities. Before our Model Y, our Honda Odyssey was far and away the best car I've ever owned. Loved it.

I've said if they made an electric Odyssey I'd buy it immediately. Gravity looks to be in the ballpark of that...

this definitely has the potential to take a bite out of R1S sales. if you haven't noticed 75-80% (maybe more) of R1S drivers are soccer moms so they don't really care about the offroad capabilities.

they want a 3 row, family vehicle. id guess this is going to have more family convenient features and be more luxurious than the R1S. if the 3rd row has at least the same room as the R1S, is in the same price range, and they can produce these soon, the R1S could take a big hit.
My wife was getting serious about an R1S to replace our EQS SUV. Now she wants the Gravity.

I saw the announcement from Lucid before I came here, and agree with many others that it's a strong competitor to the R1S. However, I also think it's not zero sum, I think there will be those who like a swooped styling and don't need off-road that go with Lucid, and others will prefer the R1S. I personally like the boxier style of Rivian and higher ground clearance. The range is a big plus for the Lucid Gravity. However, Rivian has a huge head start with the Gravity not coming out for at least a year, and then factor in that Lucid doesn't have a track record of large scale production, so it could be at least two years before they have a lot of them to sell. By then there will be additional competitors on the market from Volvo, the big 3 car companies, etc.

Overall, it's good to see more compelling electric vehicles hitting the sweet part of the American market, which is mid-sized to larger SUVs.

We ended up leasing a Lucid Air Touring last month. A short 18 month lease. It's been an amazing car so far. We are definitely excited about the Gravity and have really been impressed with Lucid.

Yeah agree it’s not a zero sum game. And people will want it.

My humor comes from that it’s more of a minivan than proper SUV. Are minivans good and functional too? Absolutely!

All I see is a minivan. It's a nice looking minivan but, I don't see this competing with the R1S.

It looks like a station wagon to me. But if they sell it for under 80K and it goes 400 miles on a charge, it'll be a game changer. Although I don't see that happening. I bet 80k will go 300 miles or so.

80k is not going to be offering the same features as the R1S. 3 row seating, AWD, air suspension, etc will likely be at the higher trims. It could still be a viable alternative, but it really depends on what is offered at each price point IMO.

We got our R1S to replace our minivan. There are plenty of other owners who did the same. Which why things like the EX90, Lucid Gravity, etc are attractive. Can they do what the R1S can do? Definitely not. But they offer other features which are a better market fit for the suburbian family crowd.

Exactly. All I see is a minivan too, and for me the words 'nice looking' and 'minivan', don't belong in the same sentence !! Still, it sounds like plenty here like the look, so each to their own.
