What good is a Guide if they can't locate a truck for you?
Well, I think when one “becomes available “ there’s 100s of guides vying for it. I think the factory assigns fresh vins so that’s where the disconnect is.

I leave for Spain for a week tomorrow (for work) - which means on Monday I will get a guide that will tell me i can have a truck in two days.

I have three trips back to back from May 26th to June 6th. That will absolutely be my delivery window.

It's Friday and my hopes were again dashed today.

My BU guide told me there was a local truck that matched my config with some minor changes that worked for me at the same price. Got super excited and asked for the online config. Waited all day only to log in and see the truck has the dark wheels and she didn't add the additional $3500.

As much as I want my LE LG I'm not forking over an additional $3.5K for a set of dark wheels.

Back of the line I go - more waiting ... s00n
I'm not exactly sure of your conversation with your guide, but from what you wrote "... there was a local truck that matched my config with some minor changes that worked for me at the same price." that sure sounds to me like they might be letting you have the darks for free.

But maybe I'm mis-interpreting. I wouldn't assume that could happen though - to get you your truck (and give them a sale) faster.

Honestly, I struggle with the whole 'got you one and its on the production line' thing. To get anywhere close to their 2022 production goals they need to be pumping 50-75 vehicles every single day off the line. The line isn't hundreds of vehicles deep. I mean a vehicle coming of the line at the end of a given day probably was a bunch of parts in the morning.

Don't get me wrong, my Guide said yesterday she has "one assigned to me." Sure wish I had a clue what that really means.

I just got my guide as well! No more constant checking of the account, yay!
Nope. It’s like Disney Land. You get to the end of one line and their is another. After getting a guide checked daily for 8 steps. After 8 steps I’m checking daily for step 8 to unlock.
You are much closer, but not quite there yet.

She texted me from the get go today the price for the local truck she found was the same as my original config but with the black 20's ...

"pricing would be the same at $75,825.."

I didn't want to say she was wrong but asked for a list of the options to confirm pricing was indeed the same. It took til late afternoon when she asked if I accept the order that I logged into my account and saw the changes they made. The black 20's were listed now and it showed a new price of $79,325.

She never told me the new price only asked if I would 'accept'. When I pointed out the additional $3500 she said she was going to tell me about that and the price was upgraded.

Needless to say I said no I do not accept and she promptly unmatched me from the vehicle putting be back in the same spot I presume I was two weeks ago.

Yeah I tried to dig into that(about a week) is what was said, which I assume means inspections and logistics also handled. That or it's in the queue to be built at factory which takes a week to go from 'a future car'(IE it's specs planned and parts accumulated, to the day it's built.

I hear you. Mine is “in General Assembly being produced as we speak” and that was this past Tuesday. No updates since then.

On the plus side, supposedly all of our cars are there together, not alone. :CWL:

If she really said the pricing was going to be the same $75k amount with the crazy overpriced $3,500 dark tires, rivian should support that. That's probably a mistake, because those $3,500 extra tires are just pure profit for them. I think you could have made her complained and gotten dark tires for free, she made a mistake.

I haven't mentioned it but I signed my PBA on Thursday and my guide said Thursday was the last day to be on the June delivery train and if I didn't sign it then I'd be delayed with no clarity on what that means. So I signed . I really wanted to see a freaking launch green with a freaking forest edge but there's none to be seen according to rivian. #firstworldproblems.
