I just went to use my air hose on a tractor and felt a tingle. The hose likely has steel mesh and the shock went through the rubber.
Then I went to install the receiver hitch and the shock was on the ball, pin, and clip.
Currently plugged into home EVSE level 2.
Just added to service Appt at SC for tonneau replacement next week.
Anyone else experience a tingle?
When unplugged it’s gone

Hey,

Obviously you should get the electrical grounding checked but the shock would not go through the rubber and I notice on mine when plugged in sometimes it vibrates at high freq for a bit. I wonder if that's what your feeling, a bit like those old arcade machines that simulated a shock but was vibrating the handles?

Maybe.

Great thought.
Because it went away standing in rubber sole shoes and returned when kneeling or placing hand to earth, it’s confirmed electrical

Get a voltmeter and check the voltage.

Is the vehicle plugged in when this is happening? Could be a home grounding issue.

Really makes no sense without it being plugged in though as you need two points to have a voltage, and it sounds like you were only touching one point on the vehicle that was isolated (via the tires)

Actually, saw you said only when plugged in. Then the issue is you have a high resistance ground in your home. Probably high resistance ground rod(s), you may need another ground rod. And electrician can track down the ground issue, if it's strong enough that you can feel, this will be easy to identify.

OP, before bringing in an electrician (expensive), I would try L2 charging away from home at a public charger (a simple experiment). If you still experience the issue, the problem is with the vehicle and not your home wiring. If problem is only at home, then the vehicle is fine and you need to call in an electrician.

To err on the side of caution, I would advise against L3 charging until you rule out (or fix) any vehicle issue.

And if this is a home grounding issue as suggested, I would advise against charging at home until this gets resolved.

One of my hobbies is restoring old arcade games (1950's and earlier) and trade stimulators. If you are referring to the old devices advertised to provide amazing health benefits where you drop in a penny and either rotate one of the 'doorknob' handles or lever, I can assure you it ain't simulating a shock. It is very, very real. I resotred an old Advance 'Electricity is Life' machine and it can give you quite a wallop. My wife always shakes her head 'why would anyone think its fun to get shock?!?...gotta be a guy thing' (she's probably correct)

Eeek.

but I'm referring to the more 'modern' ones that use vibration. There used to be in one in local Chucky Cheese, I think it was called Vibrating Ape.

This sounds good all around.
In 6 days we’ll be at the local SC.
If it’s the home circuitry, we will have that towed in.

Hi all!

Remember that the damage from a current inside the body relates to AMPERAGE and PATH.

As I recall, a fraction of an amp is enough to kill you, if the path of that current goes through the heart. CPR can keep the rest of you alive until your heart can get to a very good hospital.

Not interested in using my body as an electrical tester, especially if I'm alone. I would let machines test electrical potentials, current, and amperage.

Stay safe out there!

Surprised it wouldn't trip the GFCI internal to the EVSE.

I'd check all the grounds and neutrals. You may also have a mis-wiring where neutrals and grounds get bonded like in a sub panel or junction box. If a ground is being used as a neutral, all sorts of things get energized in a nasty way.
