I had my First Mile Drive on Saturday morning. Two Rivian employees showed up at my house (early!) with a Midnight R1T. I was able to drive it on some neighborhood streets and south down 35W for a few miles. Didn't do any launches, but mashed the pedal pretty hard a couple of times on the on-ramps. This things goes like a rocket. It handles so well. My April-May window can't come soon enough!! (uhhh... wait.. it's June tomorrow.. oops). We didn't do much looking at the features as I was able to check one out thoroughly at the service center a couple of months ago so spent most of the time driving around.

The two folks from the service center were super nice and willing to answer all of our questions.

I will admit I didn't examine the paint that closely. I'm not much for black vehicles, but the color is great. Midnight looks very sharp, especially with the dark rims.

Thanks! That’s awesome! Will likely pair our midnight R1S with black 22s. My gut tells me El Cap is the better choice, but my wife likes black and it will be her car…

I'm thinking of putting mine up for sale as my Ford Lightning should be here in a few weeks AND I've got a R1S and another R1T in the pipeline.

Wow, a lot going on vehicle wise for you... Curious what platform you will use to sell your current R1T? Bring a Trailer, Auto-trader, etc...

I’m not sure. I’ve got just over 4K miles on it and am really enjoying it. I’ve got to wait for the Lightning to arrive before I can decide

Just finished my First Mile Drive a couple of hours ago. Fun experience - though traffic was too heavy to really hit it. I found regen surprisingly easy to get used to.

An hour after the drive I got an email with a subject line of: A Seamless Process to Purchase Your Rivian...said I'd soon be invited to the digital purchasing process. Any idea if I should take that to mean things are moving along? My window is July-Sept, so it's not all that early I guess.

If anyone is looking to get PPF done, I just had mine completed yesterday. I used an employee at a local installer who does it on the side. I had a friend who went to Sun Control, but found razor marks all over his Porsche after the last installation. He had recommended the installer I used.

I was able to get the full front and all doors done for $1800. No visible seams, he did a great job! If you are interested, I'm happy to pass along the info.

I was able to get the full front and all doors done for $1800. No visible seams, he did a great job! If you are interested, I'm happy to pass along the info.

I would love the info, July-Sept LE R1S, so it will be a while before I need it.

That's a bummer about Sun Control but good info, thanks for sharing. $1800 is a great price.

I'm several hours into my PPF bulk install at home right now. Tedious to be sure but this way I only have myself to blame for any issues.

Your excitement is completely justified. The truck is good. Like really, REALLY good.

We took delivery yesterday at the service center (technically at a park down the road, fine by us) and it was better than expected. Our delivery specialist, Nathan, was wonderful and friendly and made the experience that much better. The team at the service center were great to work with as our truck needed a new door. The work was done well as we couldn't spot a difference.
And then there's the truck. It sounds like the future, goes like hell and makes you smile every time you see it. Worth the wait.

Does that include paint correction and a ceramic coating?

I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about Midwest Clear bra, so that was where I was planning on going.
