I understand from looking at the R1T manual you can manually fold and unfold the mirrors from the central display. I was trying today to figure out just how tight a squeeze it will be to (eventually) fit my R1S into our garage that has 94” wide openings without having to fold the mirrors through the central display every time to enter and exit the garage.

I found specs online showing the R1S width with mirrors folded is 82”. It took a chat with CS at Rivian today to find out the overall width of the R1S with mirrors NOT folded is 87.1”. Easy peasy for me to leave them unfolded with 3.5” of room on each side! YMMV. ?

I had to figure that folding thing yesterday. When the transport came to pick up my truck it was an enclosed trailer. The mirrors were going to hit, so we pushed on them and they folded. I had to leave the driver's window down so I could climb out after I drove into the trailer. I had about 1" from the wheel to the sidewall on each side.

Another argument for choosing the R1S: rear escape option. ?
