BLUF, IMHO there should always be a manual/mechanical release for power locks, whether that be people/cargo doors, charging hatches, etc. & this is a huge legal & safety issue on Rivian’s part.

This could’ve been a much bigger issue if say, the vehicle had to be towed across state lines into a state that had much more restrictive laws regarding the “sensitive items” in the gear tunnel. Imagine the histrionics that would’ve ensued at an SC in such a jurisdiction when a tech went to “test” the gear tunnel door only to find a “cache” of firearms.

2. I probably could have got into my areas if I had my jump box in the truck (under back seat) and NOT in a button area (front trunk).
