I maintain my two original positions that launch green is way uglier than forest green and that rivian is genuinely trying to do right by their customers.

As I was getting ready to leave I did ask "one more question". That was, if I rode the bike back out, since I couldn't bring a loading ramp, would they see to it we could load the bike in the back so I could drive my truck home? He said that was the easy part and would do whatever it would take to get it done.

Loading dock or forklift I reckon. Easy.

I figured, but it opened the conversation for a factory pick up. I also asked JR specifics to holding a motorcycle with a front wheel chock and foot peg cam devices, both of which need attachment to secure mounts. he explained how the rear gear tunnel structure is and also where would be the best placement for bolting to the frame near the spare tire enclosure since the cover would probably not have ample structure. He mentioned he noticed a lot of dirt getting through the front wheel well vents. I showed him that a piece of screen or better a 3-d printed grid would solve most of that. I also did an old dirtbike set up trick. When you first sit on the bike you close your eyes and put your hands out, that's where the handlebars should be located. I did the same and my hands fell right on the steering wheel in perfect placement. One pedal driving will be really cool and JR played with the regen amount as I drove so I got the feel of it. It was worth the nearly 1,200mi travel for the experiences and answers gleaned.

Would a freestanding chock with handlebar/foot peg tie downs to the front two D rings in the bed work?

FWIW a rivian employee I’ve talked to who transports their dirtbike regularly with their R1T doesn’t use a chock.

the R1 prototypes from 2018 had mesh in the vents behind the wheels. Wonder why they removed that.

also funnily enough I’ve talked to JR before, unless there’s another one there.

I guess there’s no rules against crazy stalkers ;)
Sounds like a fun trip though.

You will obviously need a wingman to get that Guzzi secured when you pick it up, and to operate the new UI on your drive back. Just wanted to let you know my schedule is wide open. I'll even fly out there so things don't get too cozy on the long ride out on the Guzzi.

Solid underbody protection. Thanks for the post.
Disagree. Watch the Sandy Munro review where the truck is lifted on a hoist, link below. That's a plastic spacer meant to give battery case minor protection from elements. It's plastic in a lot of places, and when he pushed on it in spots - it went up to touch battery case. The $2,000 under body shield is "protection".

Disagree, plenty of protection, unless you go rock crawling at Moab
