Well, that was kinda painful!

I had to install SimpleCommands on my tablet and Alexa on my phone. Then I had to reset the password in the MyQ app. Then I was able to go through the steps from thesmartcave.com. It took a couple of tries before the MyQ Connect was discovered.

Phew!

Per LinkedIN, Kloee LLC is based in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Doesn't appear, at least, to have any foreign affiliations.

Could be just a shell company, but perhaps not.

I can’t resist a reply.

Your post is symbolic of part of the problem with the country right now.

In the absence of any facts, just make something up as if there is substance behind it and then say “perhaps”

Your post is symbolic of part of the problem with forums, some people don’t read and then grind their favorite “cause” ax against the wheel... Relax…. My original reply was an inquiry for facts and was nothing like your accusation. ? Here it is again for ya….

“I’d have security concerns with that. Where does the app originate; same place as Tiktok? To each…”

you forgot to mention your second post

your second reply absolutely did do exactly what I stated. I read quite well thank you.

what was your factual basis for the shell company claim?

Strike two, a swing and another miss! “CLAIM”? ?

I said, “Could,” (Not “is”) meaning I don’t know. Foreign “shell” company fronts are quite common in the US, if you did your research. I have no idea if this is one, but it “could” be, “perhaps”! ?

Edit: And as I stated in the first post, I have security concerns with providing 3rd parties I don’t know, access to my home, so I’m not interested and don’t plan on wasting time researching it - but others interested might be. And as I also said, “To each…”

Your accusation was not grounded in fact or reality. Take care and best of luck peddling your “cause” elsewhere.

There’s also Nexx Garage Opener too as another option. I don’t know if myq changed things since but I used to hate the beeping that occurs with myq remote open/close. With Nexx it can be disabled. Nexx can be configured via Alexa so open/close via rivian too, as well as geofences based on location of phone.

MyQ beeps and delays when closing over the internet not when opening. It is a safety issue to alert anyone that might be around the door is going to close since remotely you have no visibility to any people or obstructions. I’m surprised Nexx would allow that to be disabled.

Tesla offered a month free and the Tesla app did not cause a delay and beeping as the MyQ native app does.

You can do this with IFTTT and your phone. Tesla charges money for this implementation don't they?
Tesla doesn’t charge for the My Q service,, it is charged by My Q (Liftmaster/Chamberlin or whatever the parent is).

Interesting, my Tesla is older and uses standard RF for the garage openers.

Can you use MyQ from anywhere in the Tesla or is it geofenced based on where the door was configured? I would be concerned about hitting the wrong button if not geofenced, something I have done on more than one occurrence.

First, I have the same RF Homelink opener in my Plaid as you. The Tesla UI firmware update added MyQ as a “for fee” option, after 30 days. For a time, I had both the RF Homelink and the free trial of the Tesla UI MyQ. That MyQ instance worked from anywhere, as long as the cars cellular could connect to the internet/Tesla server. It also closes the garage door promptly and without the beeping we experience with the MyQ native app on the phone.
