NACS Adapter - still waiting...

Ok, true, I did not research if everyone on this forum has equal access to them before commenting. I made an assumption (you know what they say when you assume...) that because I didn't have a hard time finding one (used the one in Verona, which isn't exactly Manhattan) that they were more widely spread. In any case, they're pretty cool, so I'm still surprised more people don't talk about them on here or seem to be aware that it's an option on a road trip.

I actually never got a second confirm your address email because I guess I have ordered other items from the gear shop before. All I received was the attached shipping notification and it arrived as expected.

In any case, they're pretty cool, so I'm still surprised more people don't talk about them on here or seem to be aware that it's an option on a road trip.

Because the availability of the NACS adapter access has sucked all the O2 out of the room.

And an FYI, the new Tesla SC in Cortland is now open and is a MagicDock site.

For what it's worth, I spoke to someone at Rivian last week, and although he was not able to help expedite an adapter for my summer travels, he did note that himself and his team have been notified that all adapters will be shipped by the end of August

I had a QA professor in grad school who used to say something like, nearly everything is possible, what we need to determine is how likely something is to actually occur.

It doesn't look like there's enough data available to determine even a broad range of the probability for the the fulfillment by Rivian of all of the outstanding NACS-CCS1 adapters from now through August EOM. Based on the available info however, I think we can be confident in asserting that the the likelihood of that occurring by the end of August 2024 is vanishingly small.

BTW, I had a conversation with Rivian Service about two weeks ago and was told that the goal is to get all the adapters out by the end of the year. That's a laudable goal, if one that appears highly unlikely to be achieved.

My VIN is 000000706. (R1S Launch) like everyone else, I responded immediately to the adaptor email. I asked customer service a month ago - not a clue - but said I would get an email when it was about a month out from being shipped. ?

I don’t know how Caravano still has a job. It’s just fail after fail on customer engagement.

I knew there would be early adoption penalties, but even with that lowered bar, disappointed with treatment from Rivian.

It’s weird no one here seems to talk about Tesla magic dock chargers. You can filter on your nav for Tesla chargers, and turn off locations that are incompatible or require the adapter. Anything left showing is a magic dock and you can use it. Just used one last week and it was great.

Just did that yesterday. Having the adapter is a nice safety net but there are easy ways to work around it. Unlikely to be a show stopper.

You really don't need an adapter going from S Cal to N Cal; there are enough RANs to support that.

I'm very surprised there are many still talking to Rivian CS on matters like this. They only know what they know and have zero credibilities on outside of what they know.

I find this incredibly hard to believe given we are 1.5mo away from that time point. They have like 50k adapters yet to ship.

Just got the email to confirm the delivery address to ship the adapter. Original owner and tool delivery back on 6/10/2022.

I can sell mine, an A2Z adapter I used for 2 road trips, it looks like new and has no issues
