Made a mistake on the date. June 23 delivery. I received the opt in email beginning of October. Nothing since.
As a June 23 delivery, you should have received the opt-in email back on 4 April 24 when Rivian sent out the initial batch of opt-in emails.

There were several subsequent batches of opt-in emails sent, for people who purchased after 4 April 24.

I think currently they are either automatically opting in new purchasers, or perhaps (still) sending individual opt-in emails to new purchasers. In the long run opt-in and address confirmation emails should not be required, but this whole process is a transitional phase between what they were doing for existing owners (prior to April when they started shipping NACS adapters) and what they are now trying to do for new owners (drop ship automatically upon delivery).

The fact that you, as a July 23 delivery, didn't receive an opt-in notice until Oct 24 indicates to me that Rivian is going back through the list and trying to address any problems - perhaps you didn't respond to the initial opt-in because it got lost in your spam, or perhaps the initial email was returned to them as undeliverable, or perhaps they never sent you an initial opt-in because of bugs in the way they compiled the list.

I hope you responded to that opt-in email. If so, you are on the list to receive an NACS adapter. The fact you didn't get the opt-in until October indicates that there was a problem, which means you're going to get your adapter a lot later than you should have, but it also means that Rivian recognized that you were skipped for whatever reason and took steps to correct that.

Note that the original opt-in emails set a deadline, saying that you had to opt-in by 2 August 2024 in order to receive an adapter. So again, the fact that they sent you an opt-in email in October indicates to me that they are trying to correct errors, because they could have just said they never received any opt-in reply from you so you're no longer eligible.

Bottom line, Rivian said you should have it by the end of January. Until then, Customer Service can only tell you if you're opted-in or not - they can't tell you exactly when you will be receiving your adapter. If you don't have it by the end of January, I am sure Customer Service will figure out a way to fix the situation for the people who never got one.

Thanks for the info. That must be what happened. My opt in email said to opt in by 10/31/24 which I did.
