We need more affordable options. I think all of these are immensely overpriced. I had ordered the thunderbolt option and cancelled two days later, I was surprised they actually charged me 3%, even though nothing was shipped out.
If I had to guess, the 3% is probably the payment gateway (the platform they used to charge your credit card) fee that they normally have to pay for accepting your form of payment. It's a non-refundable fee that sellers eat as part of their cost of doing business (even if a refund of the sale was issued), which can be substantial if the sale price is high.

Nothing beats the Rivian designed one that we were all strung along with. Sure wish someone would just copy that one!
It was never sold because of rattles. So anyone making a similar design would have a similar issue. But perhaps it could be sold with the understanding that it would not be silent.

I wanted to chime in here on the question of cost for the various vehicle-specific kitchen options made for the Rivians. Designing and manufacturing a kitchen solution specifically for one specific vehicle is by its very nature an expensive endeavor. The kitchens that fit into the gear tunnel made by Range Industries and Thunderbolt Adventure Supply are much more difficult to manufacture than bed or hatchback-based designs because of the nature of that space. Add in the fact that, for now, there are far fewer Rivians on the road than other vehicles, and these will be niche products for the foreseeable future. If the company is working with domestic manufacturers, that will tick up the price even more. The Rivian OEM kitchen that started the gear tunnel kitchen concept was set to sell for $6,000.

On these forums, I’ve seen a lot of suggestions for more universal products like the hitch-mounted Yakima kitchen box or other modular products. These solutions will work well for many Rivian campers, and because their potential customer is much larger they can produce a less expensive product. Some folks are making their own solutions, and many folks are happy with an induction hotplate plugged into the outlet in the bed of the truck or a propane cookstove set on the campsite picnic table. There is no one best solution for everyone.

I'm curious why Range Industries doesn't show the rear side of the kitchen. Are they drawers? Open storage areas? How does the water area work? Surprisingly few details for $4k.
They did add a couple of photos of the rear side… difficult to see exactly but appears to be a removable countertop and open shelves for storage.
